OS is windows 7 64

I have gotten these errors while browsing reddit once. I have also received them while mostly playing video games, like WoW or Planetside 2.

Bluescreenview says caused by athurx.sys, I updated my network adapter and still got bsod.

Thank you.

Welcome

What antivirus are you using?

You need to install the latest drivers for your graphic card.
Code:

Uninstall via control panel first:

Click on the Start :orb: ► Control Panel ► Programs ► Uninstall a program ► Uninstall all the ATI related stuff.

Delete remnants of its drivers using Driver Sweeper

Update to the latest from device manager OR get them from the manufacturers website OR from a reliable source like filehippo.com (avoid CCC - Catalyst Control Center during installation)

Keep us posted

I uninstalled, rebooted ect.., went to device manager, and it said roughly "Device is already updated to newest driver". Though that can't be true, so went to developer website, and the only download link for Radeon hd 6950 was the CCC, installed that after searching google and the only link was for CCC again.

Installed now, so I'll inform you if I get another bsod

Uninstall Avast! it contributes in BSODs. Use free MSE (at least to test)

Recommended antivirus program for Windows 7 based on stability compared to others:-

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.

I tried to use it, following your instructions. I applied to all but microsoft drivers, it was freezing on boot-up. I then tried with only Atheros drivers, and it froze couple times on boot-up and couple times while I actually had a chance to use my computer.

I have not done that, I've downloaded the file from there, and for some reason they wanted me to register to their website before I did. I don't know where in the file to install the driver update is. I honestly don't know what to download to get what I need looking at this website

Edit: Didn't look at this forum since last posting because didn't have another problem until today, posted another zip

Hmm ... I also see the same ....

Still, an uninstallation and reinstallation may help there.

Also, did you uninstall Avast! antivirus or did you install MSE and malware bytes along with it?
Two antiviruses on the computer will cause instability anyway.

I uninstalled Avast when you told me to get MSE, ect..
Earlier today I guess something with the Adapter broke and I wasn't getting any internet with it, I had a bluescreen and upon boot-up I got an error saying "Updatetool.exe cannot be found."

So I uninstalled anything associated with the adapter and got a 50 foot Ethernet cable and just hooked it up to my modem. So hopefully this fixes it :)
