I just saw a thread with the exact same problem. Was that you?

Generally, the first step is to ensure you have the latest device drivers (from Dell). Video is a prime suspect, although it could be others.

This is my only post

This is my only post. All the video drivers are current. Did the other post get a solution?

I can't find the other post. But, from what I remember the suggestions, after they had the user post some diagnostic information was that drivers were outdated.

OK. I should have posted the diagnostics. The display setup in Control Panel often changes when I shift from laptop-only mode to laptop with a second display. Maybe Dell has a bug in their driver.

Apparently you can either have the Intel HD Video Graphics or NVIDA Quatro. If its the Intel HD Video, you can get the latest Intel drivers direct. Same way with NVIDIA, just make sure its the driver for the exact NVIDIA that you have.

Well, mine uses Intel vidio. I don't believe Dell has used NVIdia since they had problems with their chipsets.

Both Intel and NVIDIA Video Drivers are listed on the Dell downloads for this model. That is why I mentioned both.

This one is definitely using Intel.

I loaded the most recent Display driver from Dell and rebooted. I got a BSOD the next time I recovered from sleep mode. It was a little different from before. It looked like it was not going to BSOD, but then the panel blinked and then crashed. One last thing about this laptop, I am using a SSHD with encryption software from Mcafee.
