Windows 7 Ultimate - x64 - ΟΕΜ - age of system (hardware): 3+ years old - age of OS installation: about 2 years old - video card: xfx Radeon 4670

Hi...

It's been a few months that I have this problem which is getting worse and worse. The PC is keep crashing. I thought that the problem was video card related. I removed the card (an XFX Radeon 4670) and I used the motherboard's integrated VGA (Intel GMA 3100). It seemed that the problem disappeared completely. I shipped the Radeon to the company, they tested it but they didn't find anything wrong with it. But just in case they sent me another one. Surprise, surprise, the problem appeared again. I wonder if anyone could help me.

There are several problems. We need to solve these first

1-ASACPI.SYS

The pre 2009 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.

Please visit this link: ASUS teK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE

Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.SYS file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOTbefore).

2-AVG.

we usually need these to be resolved before the underlying cause becomes evident.

It is a good start and I wouldnt be surprised if the bsod's stop completely

Your .dmp file shows a stop error of 0x124 which is a general hardware error .

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.

Some generic advice.

If you are overclocking STOP. return to the default settings at least for now.
If you are running a RAID update its driver.

You can read more on this error and what to try here... http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lockup-debug-how/35349-stop-0x124-what-means-what-try.html

Thanks again for the help. As I said at the beginning I'm convinced that is relevant to the video card. Since there is nothing wrong with the card itself, could the problem be in the PCI slot? I'm ready to order another motherboard, hoping to solve this very annoying situation.

Can you try the pci card in another computer?

The PCI card works fine in another computer. It's only in mine that I get this... And while I use the integrated VGA I have no problems...

Perhaps pci slot. Do you have another pci card to use in the slot?
