BSOD ruining my games...

Hiya, i am having a nightmare with this, its always giving me a BSOD when playing any games that require some effort (Football Manger 2011 is fine, Napoloeon Total War is unplayable! So is Medieval 2!) and it always seems to point to nvlddmkm.sys.

Ive trawled the nternet trying to find help but to no avail. I'm at my wits end, this PC is only 9 months old too and hardly anything i want to play runs for long before a Blue Screen. please help! I have cake...? ;)

If it helps my OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. It was installed by manufacturer. The PC (Acer Aspire M7811) is around 9 Months old, this problem has been pretty constant mind.

PS I have already solved 1 BSOD a while back due to 'Rapport' crashing windows so its not that any longer

These are all virtually the same your video driver/card reset.

use these to completely remove and then re-install.

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.


also these drivers are really old and need to be updated

Hiya, many thanks for your reply. I did as you said and cleaned off old drivers and installed new NVIDIA ones and the problem seemed fixed, everything worked fine until i had 2 more BSOD, one when i was browsing a web page (came up with jraid.sys as the culprit) and just now, with nvlddmkm.sys again.

Some of the drivers that are old i have updated as suggested but some are programs i have uninstalled a while back. is there any reason why after a fresh install of drivers after using driver sweeper that it would work for a bit then BSOD again?

I'm stuck.

Hiya, thanks for the quick reply, i have just been to the site but i can't find the driver download, the 'download' link just goes to a directory.

Any idea why nvlddmkm.sys has reared its ugly head again?
