BSOD Running Kimgdoms of Amalur

Actually ignore the GPU comment it's usually the fans that are at about 45% i got myself mixed up. still i think the heat is usually a bit lower at idle for that as well.

It's a desktop and the temp on speccy is currently 51-52 degrees for the CPU (it keeps changing between them).

No I've had it about 2.5 years. The company who made it was small and ran an ebay shop. The guy was great for all things PC related but unfortunately they closed when the recession hit here, and the flooding in thailand made prices for parts shoot up and they couldn't afford to stay in operation.

Does it appear to be the CPU that is the problem after all?

Actually I think intel give a 3 year warranty so I might be able to claim direct with them if it's the CPU?

Give it a shot..but my last suggestion would be to get a new motherboard which will support your existing ram sticks.
The choice is yours.

OK, so to be clear, are you thinking the issue could be a toss up between the motherboard or the CPU? Are there any tests I can do for the motherboard?

My apologies
Get the CPU replaced and that should be the end of problems. I am not sure if there are ways to test the motherboard but I will look for some.

I wish you good luck :)

I did update the BIOS for the motherboard to see if that would fix the boot errors. Could the new BIOS have an issue with the processor causing higher temperatures?

BIOS updates are good. Lets see if they fix something.
If you get more blue screens, upload them like you did earlier :)

Hello again,

Unfortunately yes I had another blue screen. My computer was shutting down, then the loading circle stopped spinning and a few seconds later it blue screened. The message that displayed said something like "A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processer".

I have left the pc with a computer repair store hoping they can test out all the hardware and find the issue. They informed me that so far it is running fine, however one morning it did not turn on at all and they had to open it and press a button on the motherboard to switch it on.

If they do not find the issue I'll upload the new blue screen file when I get it back. Does that blue screen message or the pc not turning on mean anything to you?

Well that means your CPU/Processor has gone bad, you will find more information on this link.
(Just for a read if you have free time) This was your problem from the very beginning.
:ar: http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lo...0x101-clock_watchdog_timeout-troubleshtg.html

In most cases getting the Processor replaced is the only way to solve it.

You could tell the pc repair guys to switch the cpu with another (good but a used one
if possible in case they don't want to test with a new cpu
) to test if it gives those
bsods occur or any other problem. If it doesn't bsod you'll be sure of what your problem
was and wouldn't have to get a new motherboard or complete new hardware.

Let me know the feedback
