Thanks Jonathan. I definately ran "chkdsk /r" yesterday as it performed on reboot. I will try again and keep an eye on what happens.

Chipset drivers [-] On my way to EVGA now with usb stick in hand. Got a feeling I am on the latest but no harm as the ssd has been installed since I last visted them.

Updated Chipset drivers.

Bios now updated (was several versions behind).

Ran Seatools and every drive passed the ShortDST basic test.

Ok I;ve made a decision. As well as other probloems i believe the SSD has problems.

Repair failed.
When running chkdsk /r the system freezes on the one of the steps : file check (Step 4 I think).

I am caught in a loop as I can not by pass it. My mother board has no PS for keyboard and whatever usb port I use the keyboard is disabled at the point windows boot request press any key to bypass.

Restoring from image file also failed (BSOD) 0x0...9 code.

I am now going to install fresh and follow the SSD guide pre installation from the forums.

Thank you for all your help guys and rep points on the way.

I hate going down this route as I feel we have not succeeded. Saying that, I have learnt a lot from everyone and can now go that extra mile with the knowledge shared here when diagnosing future issues.

Hope the post helps others should they fall fowl and start their journey.

Thank you all again.

Peace

Wondering if I should use the SSD as a secondary data drive for programs rather than the OS or maybe the otherway round. Undecided yet.

Thank you

Take the time to get a perfect reinstall, then back up the image when it's set up and running right so you never have to reinstall again: Reinstalling Windows 7

We're here if you need us. :geek:

Thanks Greg and indeed all for your superb help and support. It really is so much appreciated.

No back up and running, just installing some software updates and will be backing up again when done. In fact I had actually taking a windows image backup with the studio and most components installed so not as bad as I expectedafter about an hour back up.

Is indeed an one no more TuneUps.

Should I still use ccleaner or glarys utilities just to keep the junk out and HD load down?

Recommend CCleaner disk and registry tabs, used in thousands of installs over 10 years without a single issue here.

Puran Defragger has an offline boot defrag which is superb, can also optimize most used programs by placing them on outer edge of HD closer to reader by engaging Intelligent Optimizer on Additional Operations tab.

Use MSE with WIndows Firewall, Malwarebytes standalone scan monthly.

All links in Perfect Reinstall steps.

Reinstalled everything and almost so far so good.

However I am noticing 2 issues :

BSOD is back will post in a bit. It may be I have a hardware issue. This appears to be the mulit monitor issue again.

System is hanging occasionally, lag or spike, sometimes for upto 60 secs. This is something recent (pre reinstall) but happing. Not necessarily graphics based. When I am back Ill post the same logs as from start of thread.

Im wondering memory, graphics card or SSD.
Peace
