BSOD Seemingly random, almost every day

Been getting BSODs a lot lately, whether I am at web pages or just at the desktop, etc. and in my reliability monitor I have video hardware errors. Wondering if my video card is the issue.

I have Windows 7 x64 (downloaded from school website for free) on a system that's only a couple months old.

The 5 most recent are related to sptd.sys. You need to remove that before we can get to the underlying cause (probably scsiport.sys)

Please remove any CD visualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%.

They use a driver, found in your dmp, called sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs.

Use this SPTD uninstaller DuplexSecure - Downloads DuplexSecure - FAQ

when you're done you can use this Freeware:

MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM
(MagicDisc)

in its place

Using MagicISO to create ISO image files

I used the uninstaller and restarted my computer, now my computer won't start up. It says starting windows, then just has a black screen with my mouse pointer on it. I can move it freely, but that's about all I can do.

You try booting in safe mode (F8)?

From the win 7 dvd?

I scheduled a disk check and restarted, it didn't find anything wrong and restarted, but now it boots up just fine. Not sure what happened.

But back to the other issue, I had Daemon Tools, uninstalled it and thought that would fix the problem. Didn't realize I had to use the SPTD uninstaller. Should I just see if the problems persist and if I get any more BSOD?

As i thought this one dmp was related to scsiport.sys. What scsi devices do you have, and have you re-seated cards, cables, etc?

The only thing I changed was installing a different video card to see if issues persisted with Rift crashing about a month ago. I uninstalled the drivers when I removed it, but other than that nothing has been changed. Right now the computer won't start up again, slow at the beginning and stops at Verifying DMI Pool Data
