  • 64 bit, full retail.
  • Hardware is 1 month old (built myself)
  • OS was installed when I built it from a USB drive (did not include an optical drive in the build)
  • SPECS:
    1. i5 2500k
    2. ATI 7850 GPU
    3. corsair tx650 PSU
    4. ASRock Extreme3 Gen3 motherboard
    5. Corsair vengance 1600 ddr3 ram (2x4gb)
    6. Coolermaster hyper 212 cooling unit
    7. 500gb Western Digital HD
    8. 64gb Crucial M4 ssd (OS is installed on this drive)

It was working fine the first 3 weeks I had the build, then I went on a vacation for a week. I come back, and the thing BSODs on me 6 times in an hour and a half.

First thing I tried was setting clocks back to normal (was at 4.3ghz on the i5, went back down to 3.3ghz) and it was stable for like 45 minutes after I did that, but it then crashed again. Also did a memory diagnostic test and everything was supposedly good.

My max temps with prime95 now are like 37 degrees celsius with RealTemp because I have the coolermaster hyper 212 as opposed to the stock cooler, so it shouldnt be crashing due to over heating.

Also: first crash occured firing up minecraft.

Thanks for any and all help guys.

Using which tool/software? You should run Memtes86+ for at least 7 Passes (Test each RAM stick individually)
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html

Your BSODs are RAM/Memory related, rest your RAM settings to their default values in your BIOS. Stop any overclocking if any.

Run Prime 95 to test your CPU. Carefully the instructions in this tutorial: CPU - Stress Test with Prime95. Run 3 separate tests, one on each of the settings (Blend, Small FFTs, Large FFTs). Post back with your results.
Note that this test may overheat the CPU, ensure proper cooling.

Post back with your results.
