Computer keeps throwing a BSOD shortly after the boot process. I make it to windows with enough time to launch chrome or another program and then the crash happens. I restored windows and it started happening a little less.

I ran a "whocrashed" program that identified something with atheros driver, but when I try to update it windows says it is the most up to date driver.

I have attached the dump/system files to where you can hopefully help.

Thanks in advance.

No overclocking. The laptop has been restored to it's original out the box condition and is less than 1 yr old. It is an MSI FX420.

Right now, I have Microsoft Security Essentials. I have an extra Nod32 key so I can use that if I want. I will wait to get the thing running good first.

No back up tool being used at the moment, just relying on windows restore points since the laptop has been restored so much I havent put any real personal documents, programs, photos, etc.

Thanks again, I will perform the suggested.

I have already done the chkdsk /f /r and sfc /scannow prompts through the cmd console. They did not come up with any errors. I also ran the windows memory diagnostic tool last night but I will give memtest a go.

Again, I will update you further when I have more info. Thanks.

Ran Memtest for about 8 hours, no errors.

Ran the seatools in DOS and Windows mode, both short and long, no errors.

Additionally ran, WD life guard, both short and long, no errors.

I believe for the time being the last chkdsk I ran may have fixed it.

Thanks again everyone.
