Solved BSOD shuting down laptop ASUS M70Vn on Windows 7 x64

Hi guys,

Recently I have trouble when shuting down my laptop.

It stays a long time saying "Shuting down" and then I have a BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE.
And my laptop reboots.
I used "Blue Screen view" to analyse dump files and it said that ntoskrnl.exe is the source of the problem.

Now I don't really know what to do to solve this problem.

I have attached my report files.

Those dumps are of a month old.

Make sure your dump logging is enabled.

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click System.
  3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
  4. Check Write an even to the system log, and Automatically restart.
  5. In the Write debugging information list, click Small memory dump (256k).

C:\Windows\minidump

DM log collector doesn't seem to work properly for me. I don't understand why it doesn't include my most recent dump files in the report. So I made another report with SF Diagnostic tool. Here it is.

Reduce items at start-up. No software except anti-virus is required plus doing this improves the time for logging into windows:

Please uninstall Daemon Tools. It uses a driver called sptd.sys which is known to cause BSODs in Windows 7.

 SPTD Removal:

  • Uninstall the software using Add/Remove Programs.
  • Reboot the system.
  • Once the program is uninstalled, run sptd.sys uninstaller to remove the driver from your system.
  • DuplexSecure - Downloads
As an alternative, many people recommend the use of Total Mounter or Magic ISO

Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:
  • Click on the :orb:
  • Type CMD on Search
  • Left click and Run as Administrator
  • Type SFC /scannow

Remove Intel Rapid Storage Technology applications.

1. Uninstall it from Control Panel > Programs and Features.
2. Uninstall the driver from device manager:
- Right click on "my computer" icon and click "manage" on the context menu.
- In the "Computer Management" window that opens:
- Select "Device Manager" in the left pane, It will list all the existing devices.
- Expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
- Select one Intel device item under it, right click, then uninstall.
- Repeat the process for all Intel items under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
3. Now restart the computer.
4. Once booted, Windows will auto configure the appropriate native system driver.

Run Disk Check on your Hard Drive for file system errors and bad sectors on it.

  • Right click on desired drive and hit properties.
