BSOD some times no video at startup no bios but computer loads

hello all, im new here and my friend brought me his computer he bought off ebay that some times wont start up its a hp probook 4525s and bsod when he tried to hook it up to hdmi. im a little stomped everything seems to be freshly installed and ive never successfully read bsod dumps so im turning to you for help can someone please help identify the problem thank you

The computer seems to bsod while not doing anything I so expect the 3-D graphics card is the culprit that would make since to why the computer is some times booting to no video but it may also be a kernel error or driver trying to read/write to a bad memory pool I'm not sure how to check/diagnose it

Generally, it would appear that the system drivers are quite outdated. I would start with updating the BIOS, then move to check the rest of the system for updates.

Be exceptionally careful with this step - double check that it is the correct BIOS for the system, and you are 100% of how to flash/update it. One small mistake can render the notebook completely useless

Before you get to the BIOS update, I have another suggestion : scan for malware using Windows Defender Offline and Tdsskiller.

Also perform an sfc/scannow from an elevated command prompt.
