BSoD, sorry to bother you guys with this.

Sorry to sign up to the forums to ask for help but I am pulling my hair out trying to find the cause of my random BSoD.

Background.

Been getting some random BSoD for quite some time(thought it was down to a video driver as was unable to remove/install latest driver) so decided to reformat and install a fresh windows. During an update I was surprised to see a BSoD. I have since then run chkdsk, memtest86,prime95,for long periods 12hr+ no problems, run furmark burn in test and no errors whatso ever. I have real copy of windows7 aswell(very old copy tho).

i have attached some files that mean nothing to me, this is my last hope before I have to take it to a technical engineer.

Please begin by installing Service pack 1 It contains a number of security and stability fixes that may help (or even fix) your problem:

check out these two hotfixes and see if they help:
"0x0000003B" Stop error when you run certain applications in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2
"0x0000003b" Stop error when the memory usage of memory-mapped file is high in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

also please run the following virus scanners to check for possible infections:

hi guys think it happened again, had a random shutdown while I was afk so not 100% sure it was a BSoD. Can anyone take a look for me please ?

on a side not is there a way for the BSoD to stay up rather than reset the PC.(think I read there is a setting to do this).

It looks like this BSOD was caused by memory corruption, please run memtest86+ for at least 8 passes to check for problems with your RAM:

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Tip: do this overnight it can take quite some time.

thanks for the reply, I am a little shocked to be honest as I ran intensive tests all all hardware before I posted. I am pretty sure I had 11 or 12 passses on memtest it was 100% more than 10.

I will rerun tonight.

Do the test one stick at a time if you can, I have seen situations where when all the ram is inserted there is no problem shown but individually faults appear.

run memtest with all sticks in had 17passes, will test each one tonight, on a side not been running linux last few days and playing games like wow(/hide) etc and have yet to have a single lock up.

If your RAM passes memtest with individual sticks inserted please try the following:

Run the following commands from an elevated command prompt:

SFC.EXE /SCANNOW
Go to Start and type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)
At the top of the search box, right click on the cmd.exe and select "Run as adminstrator"
In the black window that opens, type "SFC.EXE /SCANNOW" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
Let the program run and post back what it says when it's done.

and then from the same command prompt

chkdsk /f /r

after running those please enable driver verifier and allow it to crash your computer once it has crashed your computer please post the new files here:

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Tip: If you can not boot normally after enabling driver verifier boot into safe mode by pressing the F8 key before the windows logo appears.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you Dsprague but I wanted to test the memory fully before troubling you my memory is good Since we last spoke I have been using Linux and had no problems. I have now removed Linux and have a fresh install of windows on my machine. I have done all updates but have not installed the 2 hotfixes you mentioned in your previous posts as I was still getting BSoD's after applying those.

Here are the details from the sfc.exe

and the chkdsk /f /r. My files system is NTFS and i did not reschedule chkdsk as I have already done this and it was clean.
