Hey!

So, I installed W7 couple of days ago and unfortunately I'm getting BSOD's now. The BSOD gives the error: Stop 0x00000124. I guess that's hardware related? I also got some random lock-up's in Vista Ultimate x64.

My specs:
ASUS P5Q
Club3D Radeon 4870x2
Intell C2Q Q9500 @ 3.4 GHz (Tested and stable)
2x2GB Kingston 800 MHz DDR2 (KVR800D2N6/2G)
Couple of WD hard drives
Zyxel NWD310N (WLAN Card)
Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty

So what can I do to stop this BSOD from coming again? How can I find out which component is faulting? What can I do to fix it?

Right before the crash, you can hear a looping sound from stereos.

.

It's not stable.

Run memtest+ overnight to test the RAM.

If memtest passes with no errors, then it's a good chance you need a tad more vcore on the CPU.

memtest link Memtest86 - Download Page Run this test 1 stick at a time to isolate the bad stick if you have 1. Also I recccomend you run cpuid in order to verify that the ram is the same If mot purcjased in a set. Un matched pairs, timings or voltages will cause memory errors CPUID. Let memtest run around 5-10 times per stick. this is the way I was tought when I first started and was learning how to overclock ram. ( nott hat yours is just making a statement). Not trying to step on anyones toes just adding some links. Fabe

Hi,

I'm going to try and revive this thread... I'm having the same issue. Can someone help me please?

I've uploaded the dump file here

Athlon x2 4200+ 2,2GHz
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
GeForce 9600GT

I've been here trying to figure out what is happening.. Still no luck.

I've updated and then downgraded my BIOS, I've installed windows certified drivers via windows update, then downloaded and tested the latest from the motherboard and graphics card manufacturer, and still no luck.

I've done a clean installation of windows 7, and the problem won't go away...

This happens when I try to run FutureMark, UT2004 and at windows media gallery installation.

I think it's most likely to be graphics card / PCI-E slot related... But I've already try to use another PCI-E slot, and also changed the graphics card to a more modest one (GeForce 7300)

Also, the 0x00000124 happened on windows setup... And I figured that it went away (but only on windows setup) when i turned the "Plug and Play OS" option in my BIOS to "OFF"

I've also ran a mem test, then swaped for another pair of DIMMs and also swaped my CPU for a single core Athlon 3800+.

Dunno if it is relevant but,

My temps are:

MB: 39Cº / 102Fº
CPU 32Cº / 89Fº
GPU 34Cº / 93Fº

Can anyone help me please?

I do not want to go back to windows XP! :(

I am having the same issue with one of my computers. It had been running win 7 for a long time before first having this issue. I have tried a fresh install of win 7 and still having the same issue. I have run multiple test runs with both memtest86 and mdsched without finding any errors. I have zipped the most recent minidumps and the system info at this link: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=ACC21CB215A49F01!136&authkey=!AIm5HYEGzUY1xrY&ithint=file,.zip . I have tried pretty much all the suggestions I have come across for this issue with no resolve. It happens in safe mode as easily as from windows itself.

Thank you for your help with this issue.
