Hi guys I have an Asus A43S

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz 8GB RAM
nvidia gt 540m
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
it is also an OEM version.

I recently sent my laptop for repairs because I encountered many problems related to crashes and got tired of it. Since I got it back it has worked fine.. until now.

While surfing the internet, my laptop decided to BSOD with a stop error 0x24 with the problem relating to ntfs.sys. After the BSOD I decided to remove Daemon Tools as they were frequent causes of BSOD's.

Any ideas as to what is causing this? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Software Concerns:
Security Software: ??? Make sure to install security software. I recommend either of these:
After installing your security software, update it, and then run full scans today with each program. Report back the results of the scans.

Analysis:
One .dmp file is not a lot to go on. If you had multiple .dmps, they may provide a pattern, but if they were all the same, it would still be a challenge to track it down. The BugCheck indicates a hard disk related problem, and the .dmp blames memory_corruption. This could mean hard disk corruption, bad sectors, a failing hard disk, Windows files or registry corruption, viruses, or memory problems. It may be easier to determine which if you follow the http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

Thanks for your reply! Now that you mention it I encountered 2 BSOD's prior to my most recent crash after I had my laptop repaired. The second most recent crash cited tmcomm.sys as the culprit. After a bit of research I found that it belonged to Trend Micro Security Systems which came preinstalled with my laptop. After uninstalling that program my laptop ran fine until now. I've attached both .dmp's and for good measure attached the dmp file according to the BSOD posting instructions. I'm having some trouble with the performance monitor however, it doesnt display the information and the perfomance logs alerts service is set to start and manual.

I see possible Windows corruption on the system.
Check Windows for corruption. Run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations. Use OPTION THREE of http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html to provide us with the sfcdetails.txt file if errors occur.

The Windows Search service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
Your Indexing service also needs to be reset:
  1. Click Start Menu...
  2. Type "Indexing Options" without quotes into the Search programs and files box...
  3. Click Advanced...
  4. Click Rebuild...
  5. Click OK...
The above may take a few days since it only runs when the system is idle.

I did the sfc /scannow but on the first run, it came back with no integrity violations so I attached the sfcdetails text file.

Looks good. Did you reset the indexing service?

Also, a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html with Automatically fix file system errors checked is a good step for all your drives. For any drives that do not give the message:
Windows has checked the file system and found no problems
run disk check again as above. In other words, if it says:
Windows has made corrections to the file system
after running the disk check, run the disk check again.

Yes I did reset the indexing service and did disk check 3. It came out with "Windows has checked the file system and found no problems" on the third disk check.
