Hi,
At first I'd like to apologize for my bad english

I got a lot of BSOD for the past 2 months.
It mostly happens when I watch youtube videos, I got some also when installing the Planetside 2 beta via the launcher.

I've also noticed my computer makes more noice than it used to make. The sound seems to come from the cpu.

I've got problem to boot my computer sometimes, it will boot but the screen will remain off (yellow led).
SOmetimes it starts to make a lot of beeps and when I try to boot it, and I have to power the computer off and then on to make it boot again.

I've read my dump files with whocrashed and it seemed to point at nokernel.exe and drivers like the ones from daemon tools (removed the program, still got bsod), directx driver, and watchdog.sys

I made a Ccleaner for registery yesterday so unfortunately my dump files are gone, and I haven't been able to get new dump files since then even if I got BSODs.

I've updated my drivers via the intel website.

I've been running Memtest86+ for 10passes with no errors.

I've checked my temps with speedfan and they seem ok.

My computer was originaly running on vista 32bits, I've installed win 7 2months ago.

I'm linking my SF diagnostic tools files even if I don't think there is any dump files in it.

I'm open to suggestions, thanks in advance.

Hi

My computer is 4 years old.

The sound comes from the cpu ventirad. Ive tried to remove and removed a lot of dust but I can't clean up the ventilator, I've no access to it it's like a odd ventirad tower.

Also thanks for your link, I've already tried the driver verifier earlier and I got a lot of BSOD, I couldn't even log into windows even in safe mod.
I ran a system repair for windows boot, to be able to launch windows again

I was running a Prime95 blend test when I made the 1st post, it's still running atm

What are your CPU temps? I think it is overheating badly and causing the issues. You may have damaged it.

wow you may be right, I've just checked the cpu temp again with speedfan
now it's 52°C idle, and it reaches 78-79°C on gaming which is too much I guess.
Last time I've checked it was 43°C on idle.

I don't overclock

I should remove the ventirad, clear it, or change it?
and I guess change thermal paste, I've no idea how to do it

And cross my fingers for the cpu not being damaged, maybe it's too late/
I just got a crash while playing a heavy game also, no BOSD just the screen turned black (yellow LED)

Thing is my CPU temp don't reach more than 52° while streaming vid and it's when I get most of my BOSD

Yes, you've exceeded Intel's max operating temp for it of 71.4C. Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 AT80580PJ0676M (BX80580Q9400 / BXC80580Q9400)
I had to look up ventirad, cooler in English. :D
Minimum/Maximum operating temperatures
cleaning the fins on your cooler may help along with any dirty vents (holes) in your case to allow air to flow better.

I like to use Arctic Silver 5, AS5, for CPUs. Arctic Silver Incorporated - Céramique 2
Here's a video of one way to change the thermal paste.

It could be your graphics card too, have a go at testing it.

thanks for the links
yeah cooler = ventirad sorry :D
I ran a hot cpu test earlier, and my computer crashed during the test
I've noticed I got bsod using google map street viewer as well

It's more and more difficult to boot my pc, I have to try a few times before the bios shows up or even for the screen to switch on.
I often get crash right after booting windows now also.

I'm gonna try the Video card stress test.

And I'm already looking into buying a new computer...

I've just ran the GPU test successfully for 7min max temp 89°C, no artefacts

I'm linking in this post new files containing a few crash dumps I think.
(I'm currently running my computer with only 1 memory stick to see if there is any changes).

I'm gonna try to change the thermal paste during the week

Seems like a SteelSeries Engine HID Driver is contributing in BSODs as well. You might want to uninstall it and see if that helps. Let us know how your computer performs on that 1 memory stick

I've yet to get a BSOD with that single memory stick.
My pc seems to boot fine as well
It seems to be a RAM problem finaly even if I got no error with Memtest.

My CPU temp is high in speedfan while the cores temps seem lower and ok. The processor temp is ok as well in another program like speccy.
I've performed a better dust cleaning as well
I'm gonna try with the other stick alone soon. Then try different slots

Each stick seems to work fine alone.

I got new crashes with the both stick together, dual channel.

Changed the slot and it appears that I get crashes within 5min only with dual channel, and it seems to work with simple channel.

I'm probably gonna let it simple channel, I'm not sure if there is a noticeable difference with the performance.
