$25 will be sent to Haiti in your name, I'll post proof on here.

OK, here goes:

I got a Dell Laptop about 45 days ago and I've gotten random BSOD's. I called Dell support and they went through my logs and sent me new RAM. Sometimes I wont get it in days, other times, I'll get it within 15 minutes.

The RAM has been swapped out. I posted all the specifics in my profile [link] with the computer and will go through every step.

Winner is the person who's suggestion doesn't cause a BSOD for 1 week.

I appreciate the help.

Though when the blue screen appears to be writing a log file, there's nothing in the minidump folder.

Have a look at the thread with links to m/soft 'specific' fixes/updates to problems that some people are suffering inc weird bsod's.

Otherwise I would get my money back off Dell.

Just had another BSOD, and no minidump.

I ran a sfc /scannow and I get errors like

2010-02-26 16:08:45, Info CSI 00000315 [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:20{10}]"tcpmon.ini" of Microsoft-Windows-Printing-StandardPortMonitor-TCPMonINI, Version = 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch

If this helps:
I use my laptop at home and at work. I have a network printer installed, and two at home and plug those in when I need it.

I also have a docking station at work that plugs into my 1 USB port at work. I have never had a BSOD at home and all have occurred at work.

Sometimes 64 bit store the DMP in c:\windows\memory.dmp. you can search for it (*.DMP)

If you have configured c panel to place it there we will wait.]

Yeah, I checked there as well. The odd thing is that it was logging to the minidump probably a week or two ago when I was dealing with dell.

Here is the output from the sevenforums tool.

Hello,

Lot of issues are going on. One main thing is lot of old drivers which can cause BSOD. Run the Memory Diagnostic & HD Diagnostic. Uninstall AVG and see whether that makes any difference.

I ran the samsung diagnostic which told me to format the HD. I reluctantly did, ran the same test and got the same error. I called Dell and they told me to run theirs, which said there were no issues. I'm on a fresh install of Win 7 Ultimate x64 and maybe the drivers I'll be forced to install may fix the problem.

I'll keep you updated and keep my word on the donation.

Thanks.

Ugh... here's two dumps after a fresh install

I'm at work, and had two in a row. I called Dell on Sunday, and they ran their diagnostics with no problems. Fresh x64 Ultimate Install...
