BSOD, then blank screen after install of latest AMD control centre

Hi, a few weeks ago I kept getting BSODs. I thought this was due to a faulty GPU driver, which I replaced with the recommended one over at the AMD forum. The new driver worked OK for a few days but then I kept getting msgs sayying 'system just recovered from unexpected system error'...

Now, when I boot up my system, it makes the usual noises when starting up but I get nothing on the monitor!!

I started a thread on this over at AMD forums but they don't tend to be so responsive and they seem to have site issues all the time. Anyway, hopefully some kind folk here can help me get over the latest phase of Windows woe. Obviously, I couldn't use the DM tool due to not being able to access my system.

The original thread is here, which should contain all the necessary information:

https://community.amd.com/message/2647347#170476

I think I might need a 'system restore disk' but I don't have one.

Also, how compromised is my data? Thanks. Look forward to your responses.

I'm guessing I might have to do a reinstall of Windows 7. If I do that, will my HDD be erased or will the old files simply show up? In other words, will just the Windows system files be installed anew?

Anyway, here's the scan data from my computer:

OK, I read that I could use the onboard GPU and bypass the problematic graphics card. Anyway, I turned off the system and unplugged the main cables, waited, restarted, and now the system booted to the desktop. I'm now going to try and reinstall an earlier GPU driver if I can get on the AMD forum, which is down again!
