Hi I'm new to the forums, but I will try to explain everything as best as I can.

I have an hp pavilion dv3510nr laptop.

Some of the laptop specs are:

OS: windows 7 home premium
Microprocessor2.00 GHz Intel Centrino 2 Processor Technology featuring Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P7350Microprocessor Cache3 MB L2 CacheMemory4 GBVideo GraphicsNVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS

I'm having constant BSOD, and I don't know how to begin to fix them.

I've attached the dump files.

If I haven't provided enough information, I apologize.

If someone can help me, I'd be very grateful.

This bugcheck (7F) has the following causes
Usual causes: Memory corruption, Hardware (memory in particular), Installing a faulty or mismatched hardware (especially memory) or a failure after installing it, Device drivers, SCSI/network/BIOS updates needed, Improperly seated cards, Incompatible storage devices, Overclocking, Virus scanner, Backup tool, Bad motherboard, Missing Service Pack

Since several of the usual causes are memory I would start by downloading memtestx86 and run it for 5 passes. If it shows good I might try one memory stick at a time.

If the memory passes we can try something else.

Let us know if you need help

Ken

thanks for the response. I ran a memory test, and everything seemed to be okay.

does this mean I have a faulty motherboard or something?

as zigzag has said 0x7F is Low-level hardware corruption, such as corrupt memory (RAM), Mismatched memory modules, A malfunctioning motherboard, but can occasionally be a software error :(

remove any peripheral devices and monitor for crashes ?

what antivirus and or third party firewall are you using ?

check to see if your running the latest bios and drivers ? for instance your network card driver is from February last year ?

run this stress test prime95 and if you have a hardware issue it will produce errors in a few minutes ?

I'm using avast 5 free edition antivirus and zone alarm free edition firewall.

I downloaded prime95 and started it up but I can't even tell if it's doing anything.

sorry I forgot to mention, but I think I downloaded the latest bios and drivers. windows update says I'm up to date.

BIOS cannot be downloaded from Windows Update. BIOS is a set of instructions that is specific for your motherboard and written by your motherboard's manufacturer / OEM.

I would check HP's website for any updates to your drivers *and* BIOS.

ok thanks I just downloaded the bios from the hp website.

what exactly does the prime95 program do? I've been running it for about 10 min now and I don't understand what it's doing.

Basically, Prime95 does numerical calculations at the speed of millions per second, and this is a very CPU and Memory intensive set of operations, so it basically is a poor man's test of your system, mainly stability and such. If after 10 minutes you're good, well, that says a little - after 30 minutes is a better benchmark, after 60 obviously again better, etc....

Some people say go at least 30, other say a couple of hours...

thanks, I'll try running the program for 30 min.

I've also updated the bios. I hope that will fix my BSOD woes.

*Edit* I ran the program for about an hour and a half, and there doesn't seem to be any problems.

Also, I haven't had a BSOD today, well yet anyway. I usually get at least 5 or 6 a day.

good news that prime95 hasn't had any problems, which is a strong indicator that the basic hardware is ok, and that your problems are more likely to be with bios (now updated) leaving us with the conclusion it is more likely to be software .........

If you get any more bluescreens plz zip and attach the .dmp file here ?

Are you overclocking, or undervolting? Is everything set to default?
If you have not already run a system file check
(type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow)

Let us know the results

Yeah everything is set to the default settings. I ran sfc /scannow and after the scan was complete, it told me "windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations"

I had also already updated all of the drivers as ickymay suggested to do.

At least this one. BTW the crash was probably caused by itunes.

I'm a little confused, how do I update agrsm64 agrsm64.sys ? I think you're right about the itunes part, because I think the BSOD did occur while using that program.

Unfortunately, I also had another BSOD while I was trying to surf the internet using mozilla firefox.

I'm not sure what to do next to fix the problem. I already downloaded and installed all the drivers off of the hp website.

BTW, thanks again for all of your help in trying to fix my BSOD problem.
