BSOD twice while normally using laptop

i see. tq for the response. the whole point of me wanting to learn how to read dump files is this actually. that dump files i read was from the old BSOD'd 31st march system.

I just got SSD last week and installed fresh clean windows there. Updated my wireless driver via live-update utility sadly a week ago (before i had the chance to read your post about asus bloatware).

So... i'd like to know whether my new installed windows still have athrx.sys timestamp error or not. I tried grab all from SF diagnostic tool on this new system though, but i got "no dump files found". so... while i got the txt files, eventapp and everything, the folder doesnt have the dmp files.


Can you tell me how can i know whether my new clean installed windows with that updated atheros driver have athrx.sys error or not. What kind of data do you need?

If you get no BSOD, the SF diag tool will obviously not find any dump.

I thought this thread was solved long back but looks like it isn't.

And if it is just kaspersky you want to get back on your system, get it, but expect occasional BSOD's.

You cannot know right now from the dump data as those are historical. Search in your system information if athrx.sys is present there or not.

hello koolkat tq for helping me the 1st time around.
1st of all, nothing to do with kaspersky really. i dont care if my system has kaspersky or not.

this BSOD has happened to me several times every time after i've clean installed windows, the first 1-2 months its going well but then, after a few month running i got BSOD, after i got BSOD i just clean install my windows. (every time its the same IRQL less than or equal BSOD)

That's when i've decided to post here 3 weeks ago... and then you come to my rescue and mentioned that the BSOD is caused by kaspersky (which i've got rid of) and atheros WLAN driver.

Which is the thing i want to find out now. I want to know if my new clean install windows still have atheros timestamp unable to load error stuff or not.

Which is also the reason why i asked aroung about how to read dmp files.
I dont wanna come back here few months from now reporting BSOD, and turned out it's the same atheros.sys error again (sans kaspersky, which i dont use on my current system)

how to know whether it's running properly or still have the same error @arc and @koolkat?
