BSOD, unknown causes, new build

Just put together a new pc, Win 7 Pro.

Phenom II 940, 1 stick of Mushkin ram, running at lower than rated speeds (1 of the pair's sticks was bad, this stick tested good)
8800 Ultra gpu
Corsair 32gb SSD

All stock settings.

Get BSODs while playing resource demanding games. I am going to reinstall the graphics drivers, and turn off the automatic driver installation first... Also going to try to find my correct sound card drivers, creative x-fi card. The ones I had installed weren't quite right. Not sure what is conflicting. There is one driver error under device manager, but I don't know if that is causing it or not.

Hi SB and welcome

A new pc? The most obvious problem is from some really old drivers. The most glaring is the acacpi.sys dated 3/05.

I would update the drivers

The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).[/quote

Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
SFC /SCANNOW

That file is for another motherboard, does that matter? I updated windows, and tried to download the current motherboard drivers, but that might not have been listed under my model or I missed it.

edit, nvm it looks to be the same I found the appropriate dl.

Edit: Ran a few stress tests, they didn't fail within 5 minutes, so it is looking like I might have fixed it, or at least helped. Thanks
