I have just conducted a series of several updates and switched off the Intel Rapid Storage Technology service (or should I uninstall it completely?). The problem seemed to have gone away again but with these new updates, I can't seem to adjust my screen's brightness using my hotkeys on the laptop... any ideas?

Also, what should I do about this pci.sys?

Did you uninstall the hotkeys utility, or disable it via the msconfig by accident?

No, the hotkeys themselves are still functional, but brightness is not adjusted. The icons showing me decreasing brightness will show up but brightness itself does not change.

Also, as I try to access Intel(R) HD Graphics control center I get the following error:

PCI.sys is NT Plug and Play PCI Enumerator which is a system driver. It is not the reason behind the BSOD. Follow what you are advised to do, you need not to do anything with PCI.sys.

I did some further updates to several drivers and the problem seems to have gone away once again. I'm currently still trying to solve my brightness issue. My question now is about my Intel Graphics Driver. How do I know which driver to install? I just accidentally uninstalled my Intel graphics HD 4000 and saw that the Intel website has several other drivers that I guess are more 'advanced' or something which I'm not sure if i could install as opposed to re-installed the previous driver. How does that work?

I also successfully uninstalled Intel rapid storage technology which as you said might have been causing the blue screens so let's hope the problem does not return

Yes ok but my question is in general, if my computer came with this such driver, would I be able to install other types of graphics drivers from Intel or would that cause compatibility issues?

Intel driver updates causing brightness problems again, still trying to fix that and the BSOD's...

The same culprit again.

Logon in Safe-Mode not safe-mode with networking and try to trigger the BSOD again.
If it does bugcheck, qquip yourself with a camera, go into the BIOS and take a picture of the SATA Mode.
What is it configured to?

So, every time I use the computer I must be running in safe mode? Because the BSOD's come and go and only happen when I enter sleep mode/close the lid/etc...
