This past Saturday I began having a problem where Adobe Products would cause a BSOD. I first noticed it in Photoshop and then I tried Adobe Acrobat Reader and Illustrator both of which also had a BSOD. I tried reinstalling. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling. Neither of these worked and when I tried to uninstall all the Adobe stuff it would also cause a BSOD. Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign all seemed to uninstall fine but Acrobat and other programs associated with it would not allow uninstallation either having errors (while in safe mode) or causing a BSOD.

I copied down the following information and have attached the requested information:

Problem Signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
LocaleID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 50
BCP1 FFFFF8801A33C830
BCP2 0000000000001
BCP3 FFFFFA80089F22E6
BCP4 0000000000002
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

I appreciate the help.

Welcome
Most of your reports were in agreement as to the cause a microsoft driver, which is not the cause.
Make an SFC scan
If you still have problem run a driver verifier scan to determine the true cause
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html
Driver Verifier
I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Windows 7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because
Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Should I only back up system files (Scannow page mentions that) or should I be backing up everything (ex. Music, Images, Documents, etc.)?

Once I follow those steps, what information do I need to report back here? I'm not the most tech savvy person so some of this is going over my head a bit and I don't think I am understanding the point of the procedure. That being said, I should be able to accomplish it I just need to know either a.) What I need to report back or b.) how I will know when the problem is solved.

Thank you for your help so far I appreciate it.

The tutorial mentions backing up. You should ALWAYS have your stuff backed up as well as the Operating System. If you dont know how to back up the operating system download Macrium Reflect and back up the OS on an external hard drive.
Then you can also put your stuff on the drive. Whenvever you attemp a repair stuff can get lost.
Follow the steps here:
First do the SFC, three time. If you still get BSODs, try the verifier for 36 hours. After the 36 hours just give us the reports like you gave us the last time.

Okay. I'll have to go out and get an external some time this week then. I don't have anything big enough for all the stuff I need to back up. Once again, thank you for your help thus far.

Would Windows Back-Up and Restore work for this or would that not be a good idea? If it wouldn't, do you have any good recommendations for a 1 TB hard drive? There hasn't been a brand or model that has been sticking out in my searches and none of my friends seem to have any consensus on good models either.

I downloaded the free version of Macrium Reflect and was wondering if it is suitable for what I presently need or do I need to buy one of them?

I'm waiting for my external hard drive to arrive now. Another thing that I've realized is happening is that Adobe Acrobat keeps asking me to update every time I restart my computer. In addition to that my Laptop monitor now goes black but doesn't actually shut off as quickly as it used to (I didn't change that) and today I heard some random song playing. After checking the sound mixer I found out that it was coming from Host Process for Windows Service. Are these things related to this problem as well?

There is no intelligent way to guess. All the problems may caused by a bad hard drive, but we must wait to see what happens. My guess is that you have other problems besides the HD.

So I grabbed Malwarebytes to check for any malware on my computer and it found 3 issues, one of which is the same exe as one of the others. Should I do the backup disk thing before removing the trojans or after? I realize this is kind of out of the scope of this problem but not sure what the proper order here would be. I have the hard drive now so let me know what you think please. And thank you for all your help so far.

Additionally, for when I do use Macrium Reflect. What is the proper order of using that?

Remove all the malware before making any sort of back up. If you dont and you use the back up the problems will return.

If I may add a little. I would also remove all Adobe products before backing up.

Alright I will take care of those two things. Although I can't get rid of all the Adobe stuff since Acrobat doesn't seem to want to leave. But I will get rid of as much as I can.

It would seem that Photoshop is fine now after dealing with the virus problem. I suppose it's possible that the guys helping me with that also fixed the photoshop problem since I had mentioned it to them. Thanks for your help though guys.
