Hi Folks,

Background, I have an MSI GT70, maybe 4 months old. About 6 weeks ago started getting an infrequent problem where using the wired network card would cause my computer to lock up and stop responding, as in everything stopped responding not just explorer, mouse would stop moving and all. It also infrequently blue screens. I have scoured the internet and have been unable to resolve the issue myself. I was hoping someone here would be able to help me. I would prefer not to send it away for warranty if possible as I run my whole life through this machine.

Attached are the logs, please let me know what else you need.

Thanks in advance.
Swarlz.

At the moment, I am using none. My first step was I uninstalled it. I was using Eset Endpoint Antivirus.

Edit: I am also in the midst of running a virus scan just in case but I don't believe this will be the problem as I don't go to shady sites on this laptop and don't use any unknown USB flash drives or anything.

Ok, that has been done.
I will reboot in a moment and see how it goes.

Thanks for your help I will let you know if it happens again.

Edit: Also I was using Eset Endpoint Antivirus but already uninstalled that while troubleshooting myself.

I disabled the driver verifier.
I am not planning on it, I am going to reinstall Eset Endpoint Antivirus.

What does disabling the driver verifier do exactly? What was the point of disabling it?

It puts stress on the drivers. Bad/older ones will cause BSOD-s. If there are no BSOD-s with verifier enabled it usually points towards hardware.

How did you enable it in the first place?

Oh ok, to be honest I am not actually sure, I do not remember ever running the verifier.exe is it possible for the laptop to have come with it enabled?

Great, I think you should mark the thread as solved for now. But post back if any BSOD issues arise.

Good luck. :)
