I had been getting freezes and a buzzing sound when using skype. Only happened once so i ignored it. Then while testing out dota 2 reborn in skype with some friends, i got the same freeze and buzzing. So i go to force restart and turn it back on and it makes a beeping sound (the computer) and I kill the power and restart again. So I go run a test to see if my gpu is overheating, and it was sitting around 25% load and 60 degrees, so i guess it wasnt that. Then I blue screened.

EDIT: Just played a game of Dota outside of skype and i didnt BSOD

Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:
  • Click on the :orb:
  • Type CMD on Search
  • Left click and Run as Administrator
  • Type SFC /scannow
Full tutorial here:
Make scans with the following:

Kaspersky TDSSKiller
ESET online scanner:
Run Disk Check on your Hard Drive for file system errors and bad sectors on it.

 Hard Drive Diagnostics

  • Double click and open my computer.
  • Right click on desired drive and hit properties.
  • Click on tools tab and Check now.

I am still having problems after doing all that is suggested (btw Kaspersky link doesnt work). I have noticed a weird pattern with these freezes:
-they usually happen once a day and then do not happen again
-usually happens about an hour after I wake up the pc, then doesn't happen again till the next day
I've also only recently started using sleep mode when I go to sleep. Never happened when i left it on all night. My hard drive hasn't been replaced since i got this pc 4 years ago. I remember a tech guy fixing an unrelated problem that my hard drive was bad and i needed to replace it about 2 years ago. There was also a minor flood and the carpet my pc stands on got slightly damp ( I doubt that has caused any problems). Thanks in advance for the help.

Run MemTest86+, It must be MemTest86+. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html

Run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r.
Install the latest updates from Windows Update.

Do the exact same steps for chkdsk /r but instead of typing in sfc /scannow type chkdsk /r.

I deduced that its probably a ram thing, I read a thread that had a very similar issue and it was ram. I dont want to take apart the pc because its small and finicky. I think ill just scrap the motherboard and memory and build a new one. Can this type of problem mess up my other hardware? It only happens like once a week if I keep the pc on all the time so I can just wait until I think of what pc to build. Thanks Laith.

It can't spread to your other parts, no. But if there's corruption in the RAM it will start spreading to other adresses in on the RAM.
