Hey everyone!

Trying to solve some problems with my PC, not so good at BSOD analysis...

Had a Motherboard switch from Asus (same model, previous board failed so RMA'd it), never had a problem so far, till some blue screens started to pop up.

After a while of watching some videos in wmc, in will simply bsod, happened twice, maybe more times, other bsod i had, was trying some encodes with mediacoder x264.

Already checked RAM, Memtest+ 4 passes, everything ok (CPU cooler is in the way, so I will try one by one as soon I get back from school)

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi bidomo.

Are you overclocking? As you are getting BSODs, you should stop overclocking and run all the hardware components like CPU, GPU and RAM to their default settings.
We have seen it a few times that the overclocked systems crash during video encoding.

Stress test the CPU.

Is the computer hot during encoding? Report us the heat of the computer during encoding. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Alternatively, you can publish a Speccy snapshot too: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/311593-speccy-publish-snapshot-your-system-specs.html .

Also, though you are using the best utility, you may give HandBrake a try. Does it results the same BSOD?

Let us know.

Thanks for the answer!

TMPGenc and Mediacoder both crashed the system, I think both use x264 at the end of the day.

My Motherboard by default sets a slight overclock, (4300 mhz) switched auto tunning to manual, set correct values manually (no OC), and everything was fine, then I added the SSD (switched from a Samsung 830), installed some software, added Rainmeter, hwinfo, and only encoding and WMC would crash the system....

CPU hardly hits 60°, will run @ 53° most of the time (encoding), prime likes to freeze my system, don't know why, but plenty of AMDs do that with prime

Loaded up UEFI BIOS, set everything to optimal, still had 2 more blue screens, removed some autorun items, uninstalled hwinfo64, and, then, it ocurred to me, maybe bluestacks was to blame.

Problem with bluestacks is, while running the service, some things would be sketchy, even slower, while running the front end (or emulator), had some keyboard lock ups, any low level access program (like any game using Dinput) will be infinitely stuck sendind some keys, pressing vol+ or vol- once, would make it stay sending that key for 30 seconds, so maybe it was flooding the system with junk keys (as if it even is something).

Removed the suspect, tried to encode, everything's been fine for 24 hours, will update if necessary, I guess I'll be getting into overclock as soon as I sort this out completely, I wanted to test the Motherboard before getting into that.

Will be around here checking other threads while checking stability.

Thanks for the help
