Hey guy's,

Well as the title says, the first time I boot up my PC I usually get a BSOD 1000007e.
It is however totally fine after I click startup normally afterwards. I don't have a clue what this could be. My system specs are in my sig. and I have attached the mindump files for you legends that understand them (I do not)

thank you

Daz

The BSODs are caused by Roxio GameCAP HD PRO (c:\windows\system32\drivers\uth5x64.sys).
Code:
BugCheck 1000007E, {ffffffffc0000005, fffff880042df2a1, fffff880035a8188, fffff880035a79e0}

There might not be an update, but you may search for.

If there is no update, you will need to uninstall the program.

Also you have lots of unnecessary startup entries. Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus (desired).
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Let us know for any further BSOD.

Okay Arc thank you

I have turned off the startup programs but the Roxio Game Cap can be safely ejected so my question is, Would ejecting that when not in use (rather than leaving it in all the time) still cause the BSOD or is it irrelevant? The only reason I ask is that i have had it ages but the BSOD's only started recently.

(edit) It comes up as a transcoder when I go to safely remove
Thank you

If the problem causer module is present in the system, there is full chance that it will cause further BSODs.

No more BSOD's since I removed the Game Capture device so I guess it just didn't like booting up with that still connected!

Thank you Arc
