Bsod W7 Ent. x64

Hi there..

this is my 1st post in your forums so i hope i'll get my request right.

I've installed my w7 for the 2nd time now on my new PC (b4 it was on my old PC -different HW)

I didn't get into it for the 1st time because i knew that i;m going to bu a new PC.

when it happened on the new one i started exploring.

I can only guess that they are connected.

The HW that i moved from the old PC to the new one are:
1. WDC WD1600ADFS RAPTOR
2. Seagate 1.5TB ST31500341AS
3. Logitech QuickCam Communicate Deluxe (vista x64 drivers)

As you can see there is a reference to the Eset smart security gui that i'm using-
"PROCESS_NAME: egui.exe"
but what does it mean?

also i tried to preform the driver verifier for some time (in minutes) with no BSOD's.
what should i do?

I wonder if ESET caused this one. Try removing it and see what happens.

If you need a replacement, I recommend the free Microsoft Security Essentials.

Hello TheGM,

I guess there are multiple issues going on. I would recommend to start with basics. If your Overclocking please stop. Make sure your BIOS have the latest firmware. Since the process it's reference is ESET uninstall it and see whether that makes any difference. Here is the Removal Tools ESET Knowledgebase - Uninstallers (removal tools) for common antivirus software. Few crashes is refering to some Keymaker make sure it's not any kind of Trojan. Download and Run Malwarebytes make sure it comes clean.

Run the Memory Diagnostic & HD Diagnostic

Also i would recommend to run System Integrity Checker
Start > Run > CMD >Right Click and Run as administrator > SFC/ SCANNOW

Update the following Driver

I've Uninstalled the the eset as you recommended.
also gonna try the "Microsoft Security Essentials" for the first time (not a bif fan of microsoft 3rd party like apps).

I've uninstaller the eset and just for the record - didn't use a key-maker but nod login which takes a new legit trial every time and auto inserts it to the eset.

anyhow I'm not OC the system yet and wont until the bsod's are over...

Well After all HW test there are no problems (SYS+HD+MEM).

any clue?

I dont realy favor for the MS antivisur and really liked my ESET
What else could it be?

Did you did the Memory Test from Windows or you Download MemTest86+ and make sure you run atleast 6 passes !!

ESET is a reputable security program. There are programs like ZoneAlarm and AVG I would not hesitate to tell people to remove.

If you find ESET is indeed the cause of your problems, try reinstalling it. Maybe you just had a corrupted driver.

Yup I agree with JK only thing is that download a fresh copy of ESET from thier website.

Did you did the Memory Test from Windows or you Download MemTest86+ and make sure you run atleast 6 passes !!

hi,

I did the Mem test for few hours with one of the memory giag tools in the article with no positive resoults for errors. all good.

i'll wait for a few days and then reinstall a fresh copy of the eset for x64.

do you have any other suggestions?
