BSOD when I access Ebay

Hello when I access Ebay.co.uk - be it in Google Chrome or IE8 I get the BSOD..

Dell XPS M1330 2 years old

Windows 7 Home Premium
- x86 32-upgraded from Vista one month ago

Thanks for any advice, I'm ok with PC's, but this one is beyond me.

Hi Phillip and welcome to the forum. Sorry you are having problems.

I looked at your three most recent dumps. All three show driver conflict and memory corruption. One blames asyncmac.sys, which a Windows system driver and very unlikely to be the real cause. The other two blame RapportKELL.sys, which belongs to Trusteer Rapport. Rapport is a know cause of BSOD's on some Win 7 systems. I recommend that you download Revo Uninstaller (free) and use it to completely uninstall Rapport. Many third party security programs create conflicts with Win 7. This is due to Win 7's own internal security programming. You can read more about Rapport here: MPECS Inc. Blog: Windows 7 BSODs – RapportPG64.sys is the Culprit.

Also, I suggest that you uninstall AVG using this removal tool: [FONT=&quot]Tool (32bit). If you have AVG Identity Protection installed, remove it with this tool: [/FONT]Tool. AVG is a known cause of BSOD's on some Win 7 systems. It was involved in two of your crashes. Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials in its place and make sure Windows Firewall is turned on.

In addition to the above known problems, I find the following out of date drivers loaded on your system. The ones in red font are quite obsolete. Outdated drivers can and do cause conflicts, memory corruption and BSOD's. Update these drivers from the links provided or uninstall the hardware/software they are associated with. Hardware and software designed for XP is not going to work with Win7 unless it is upgraded for Win 7.

HI, contacted Trusteer (Rapport) and told them the problem, they got me to re-install Rapport to a new version and this seems to have fixed the issue.

Reckon it's a symptom of my upgrade from Vista to Seven.

Will carry out the other stuff you recommend, but you can consider it fixed, thanks for advice I would never have got to Rapport!

You are welcome, Philip. I thank you for the information about Rapport. I knew that it worked on some Win 7 systems; but that it was a disaster on others. Now I know why. The XP/Vista versions do not work even if the drivers are current.

Don't neglect those outdated driver. They will come back to bite you. Post back in a couple of days and update us on how your system is doing. Happy New Year!!
