Dear all,
Since yesterday, i am receiving a BSOD when I right click on the address bar on MyComputer (or for win7 just Computer ) window. I installed ESET antivirus yesterday but I do not know if this issue is related. I will remove it and send an update. I have attached the dmp file in the rar if that help.

Looking forward for suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Chris

VirtualBox net filter driver (VBoxNetFlt.sys) looked to be responsible for the one crashdump you gave us. Also your wifi drivers are a little dusty so you may wanna update em. I could definitely see VirtualBox conflicting with your AV, but I'm not exactly sure as to why this showed up when you right-clicked the address bar, since nothing I see appears to be related to that.

When you reinstall ESET, make absolutely sure to update it posthaste. As for Virtual Box, update that too if at all possible, but if that doesn't work, it may need to be uninstalled (I've had to deal with bugs in VBox before).

If you wish you continue further with this, we'll need more data, and that means installing and setting things back up as before to where it's BSODing you again, then turning on Driver Verifier. Do not select the following checks: Force Pending I/O Requests, IRP Logging, and Low Resource Sim. Select all other checks. Make sure to restart system after you finish setup. If you experience a boot loop afterwards, go into Safe Mode by pressing F8 prior to Windows logo and disable DV there. Provide us any new crashdumps.

anifort,

if you decide to run verifier and
if you can't turn verifier off, then:
Boot into SafeMode
run CMD.EXE
enter following:
verifier /reset
exit

REBOOT!

Anifort,

We also have a tutorial on how to use Verifier.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/101379-driver-verifier-enable-disable.html

I realize that you do not want to lose, your investment, however,
Do what many outstanding people in the computer world do:

Install and use MSE, Microsoft Security Essentials.

MSE is the only anti-malware I use, the only anti-malware that I recommend and that I install.

Simply uninstall ESET.
Immediately, click on the MSE link in my signature.

If you still have problems, after MSE has finished with its initial scan, you should be problem-free.

Here are the best steps to follow to set things up as asked for by http://www.sevenforums.com/member.php?u=205052Vir Gnarus:
  • To run Driver Verifier, do the following:
    a. Backup your system and user files
    b. Create a system restore point
    c. If you do not have a Windows 7 DVD, Create a system repair disc
    d. In Windows 7:
    • Click the Start Menu
    • Type verifier in Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
    • Right click verifier and click Run as administrator
    • Put a tick in Create custom settings (for code developers) and click next
    • Put a tick in Select individual settings from a full list and click next
    • Set up the individual settings as in the image and click next
      View attachment 221219
    • Put a tick in Select driver names from a list
    • Put a tick next to all non-Microsoft drivers.
    • Click Finish.
    • Restart your computer.

If Windows cannot start in normal mode with driver verifier running, start in safe mode. If it cannot start in safe mode or normal mode, restore the system restore point using http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html OPTION TWO.

If you are unable to start Windows with all drivers being verified or if the blue screen crashes fail to create .dmp files, run them in groups of 5 or 10 until you find a group that causes blue screen crashes and stores the blue screen .dmp files.
The idea with Verifier is to cause the system to crash, so do the things you normally do that cause crashes. After you have a few crashes, upload the crash reports for us to take a look and try to find patterns.

When you are ready to disable Verifier: Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click Command Prompt -> Run as administrator -> Type the following command and then Enter:
    verifier /reset
    -> Restart your computer.
