BSOD when installing (or uninstalling) AVG

My computer had been shut down for a few days. When I came back and booted back up, I noticed that AVG was no longer running. I couldn't seem to get it to start, so I tried uninstalling it since I had the 2012 version anyway, so I could update to 2013 and hopefully fix the problem. Every time I try to uninstall, I get a BSOD. Every time I try to install the new version, I also get a BSOD.

I haven't installed anything new or added new hardware, so the only thing I can think of is the latest AVG update did something. The last new program I installed was Guild Wars 2, but that was weeks ago (with no issues). At first I thought maybe this was a virus, but it looks like this is a common issue? Files attached. So to be exact you cannot uninstall AVG? Or if I am reading it wrong install Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows.

Probably caused by : [B][COLOR="Red"]avgldx64.sys[/COLOR][/B]

The crash file is blaming AVG in fact to be the problem.

DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4)

Please disable Driver Verifier for the time being: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/101379-driver-verifier-enable-disable.html

For now do this and post back results please.
