I built my computer about 3 and a half years ago and have no issues with it until the past week (no hardware changes since built besides using different mice). In the past week Ive had tons of program crashes for League, Starcraft 2, Counterstrike and have had 5 or 6 blue screens between them as well as a few full computer freezes. I also had 1 instance of a BSOD on the windows log in screen ~20 seconds after the computer was turned on although all the other BSOD's were playing games. The only recentish hardware change is getting a new deathadder mouse about there weeks ago.

What I've tried:
Ran a Malwarebytes scan (clean)
Updating graphics card driver from Nvidia website, when that didn't work returning to a previous version from several months ago.
Going to device manager and trying to use that to automatically upgrade any drives I could (processor, sound etc),
system restoring (I only had a system restore point from about 5 days ago and it said the system restore failed on restarting,
Updating razer synapse (the drive for my mouse/keyboard),
right clicking on the C-drive and going to tools>error checking,
and lastly I tried opening it up and inspecting to see if any connections had come lose (didn't find any).

I've uploaded the requested .zip file and I can provide any other information as needed. Can anyone point me in the right direction to diagnose the problem? Thanks guys

Turned it on today and stepped away for a moment, came back and it's running startup repair. No clue what's going on.

Edit: it restarted again and got stuck on the Asus screen my motherboard puts up. I tried again and it started as normal. Confused

There is no single BSOD that happens more than once, this points to hardware problems but I have a software suggestion that may improve system stability because it is known for being unstable due to improper written drivers.

Please remove Daemon Tools

Please update your BIOS to the latest version 2501
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8Z77V_LX/HelpDesk_Download/

If anything is overclocked, revert back to stock while troubleshooting
Code:
CPUID: "Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz"
MaxSpeed: 3400
CurrentSpeed: 3502

It is recommended to remove all USB devices for the time of troubleshooting.

 System File Check

Please try following:
  • Open an admin command prompt
  • Copy/paste "sfc/scannow" (without quotes) and press enter
  • When it finished reboot your system
  • Open again an admin command prompt
  • Enter sfc/scannow again
If sfc/scannow says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" after the second SFC, please upload the cbs.log file located at {windows partition}\Windows\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.

Thanks for responding!

I removed Daemon tools and downloaded version 2501 of the bios but I have no idea how to install it.
Again, sorry for being kinda clueless, but I don't mean to have anything overclocked/know how to change it back if it is.

I ran the cmd prompt sfc/scannow, rebooted and ran it again, it said no errors both times.

I also uninstalled razer synapse and another razer chroma driver for my mouse because oh what you said about USB and all the mentions that new hardware/drivers might be the cause of BSOD stuff. I'd managed no issues for a day and a half but it just blue screened again =(. This one was just now after I'd done the uninstalling and run the cmd prompt.

I've attached a .zip the new .dmp from the bluescreen and the CBS.log file. I really do appriciate you trying to help me, sorry this response was a little slow

EDIT: I used Asus Ai suite two, which is a program always running on the comp since I've had it, to try to update the Bios. It looked like it was all going fine and then it asked to reboot the comp, I clicked yes and as I did the computer made the error sound and popped up an error window but restarted before I could read it. It took 3 or 4 restarts for windows to show up and it suggested startup repair (which i have ran before to no success) but I had it start normally. So I think the bios are updated now, Asus Ai suite>system information says version 2501 (this is just after the last bsod, everything else was before.)

Just after posting that reply, while watching the video you linked to see if I'd done the update right I got an IRQL not less or equal Bsod, restarted and immediately got another before the login screen. This is the first crash just browsing the web. I only can find 1 new .dmp though, here it is. Thanks for trying to help me.

EDIT: browsed googling looking for solutions and as soon as I clicked on another video link i got a service exception bluescreen. posting this from a different computer, gonna leave that one alone for a bit.

Edit 2: got another new error, this time just on trying to open firefox. I attached some pictures of the bluescreens.

I assume that means you want me to redo that step with the logs I did initially because stuff might have changed? Here that is. It froze while halfway through it the first time but this time it completed. Thank you for still responding.

 RAM TEST

Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 7 Forums

   Note
picture.php

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.

Turns out I forgot to change it to run 8 passes and ran 4 instead. Running memtest again. Is it important all 8 passes be consecutive or running 4 and 4 sufficient? So far no errors although it does say note: may be vulnerable to high frequency row hammer bit flips.

EDIT: just checked it and memtest86 Froze 5:38 minutes into testing this time. I changed it from 4 tests to 8 tests and I changed it from cpu to sequential (maybe I shouldn't have, I was looking for where in the settings to change number of tests and changed that as well.)

Edit 2: Tried round robin and it froze on the same test (test 7) at the same time elapsed. Gonna try just single core again because maybe it is just me messing with stuff I shouldn't be.

Running 4 and 4 is running the same amount of memory twice, 8 consecutive is required.

Test with 8 passes just finished. No errors. Uploaded the .html that memtest outputted. Should I try reinstalling windows or try to run memtest using one of the options that wasn't just a single core? sorry it took so long to do this step.

I stopped it after 6 passes because it had found five errors. Going to continue with the steps in the instructions about testin with the different sticks in the different slots. Would it be a good idea to test a roomate's ram in my computer and see if it runs fine?

As long as you seat it proper, that it is seated proper and in the right slots, it is an idea :)

Alright so after testing stick "a" alone there were more errors found. Stick "b" alone had no errors and after about a day of general use (games, videos, startup a couple times) everything seems normal. I think I'm ready to call this one solved. Thank you so much for helping me out! Best wishes in the future.
