BSOD When Plugging In 360 Wired Controller

Hi, first time here, hope I did this right.

My system gets a BSOD when I plug in a 360 controller. I had Motioninjoy installed before and removed it (or at least I hope I did, I had to do at least one driver removal separately). First time I've ever plugged in a 360 controller. Did this and restarted over and over again with same results several times.

Your dump still shows MijXfilt.sys - (Motioninjoy driver) as the cause. Might look in Device Manager and check it's not under anything there, and check in Windows/system32/drivers. If it's there, delete it. You could use something like CCleaner with the registry part and look for any motioninjoy entries and get rid of them also.

Huh, maybe there was a second system folder with it because I deleted it again and then a virtual 360 imaging thing came up next time I plugged it in. I went into device manager, removed the imaging driver and plugged it again, and it works!

Have the controller plugged in and check Windows Update for an update to it and follow the links it gives you. If you haven't already. Or go here and pick the right selection/s.
