BSOD when saving Word 2010 files - 0x0000007e - mup.sys - Win7 64bit

Hello,

First posting. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Machine/System spec:
CPU Type HexaCore Intel Xeon X5660, 2800 MHz (21 x 133)
Motherboard Name Hewlett-Packard HP Z800 Workstation
Motherboard Chipset Intel Tylersburg 5520, Intel Westmere
System Memory 6128 MB (DDR3 SDRAM)
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
OS Service Pack Service Pack 1
OEM
System hardware - new (2012)
OS age - new (2012) not re-installed.

Problem.
This workstation has Microsoft Office 2010 Home and Business installed. When a document is saved the machine will crash with bsod in mup.sys.

This appears to only happen when saving a document, docx format, to a physical drive other than the one containing the OS. So saving to a folder on drive C: appears to be ok, equally saving to logical drive K:, which is also on the first physical HDD, is also ok. However saving to any logical drives on other physical HDDs produces the bsod.

Of course the physical drive aspect my just be coincidence.

I've attached the bsod analysis and perfmon report in file rodfl-bsod-perfmon.zip.


If anyone needs any more information please let me know.

Some "MirrorFolder" application that was recently installed (May 03, 2012 is date of driver) seems to be fouling up. You'll want to find an update for it, and if that doesn't work, uninstall it.

Many thanks for that, I think you are correct. MirrorFolder is a good product but has had some issues in the past, usually under XP causing a hang during boot. The only way out of that was to go to safe mode and disable it then re-boot.

It also explains the lack of bsods when saving to the first physical HDD as MirrorFolder only mirrors files on the 2nd and 3rd HDDs.

Thanks again for your help and fast response, I'll do some tests over the weekend and mark it as solved next week.
