Hello Everyone,

I am needing some help with a new build that I just completed. Everything is working perfectly except that when I shut down my computer, it will start the shutdown process, hangs and then gives me the BSOD

It says that iusb3xhc.sys is the cause of the issue, The intel usb 3.0 extensible host controller.

I have already updated, the driver to the latest driver from Intel and I am still getting this error. I also have updated my BIOS to the latest one as well and this issue is still existing.

My computer is a new build so it's pretty much clean. I am not sure what is the next step to take.

Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Hello shinbo and welcome to 7 Forums! :)

I've noticed that there are USB3 drivers at your motherboards support page:

Z170 Pro Gaming

I would recommend that you try and update those!

Cheers, Boris :)

Okay, what USB devices do you have connected?

Are all of them up to date?

I would also recommend to run this:

Open an elevated cmd window (Go to start>type CMD>right click and run as administrator)

Type SFC /scannow

You may have to run this up to 3 times.

Oh and please run this tool once more, it didn't complete fully last time:

Hey Boris,

Thanks for responding, I only have my Logitech USB keyboard connected to the computer right now. It seems like this is a pretty common issue with this intel driver. Just kinda frustrating that the entire build went fine, except for not being able to shutdown/restart without BSOD.

I ran the SFC three times as instructed and all three times it says that Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations.

I've attached the new tool zip file.

I did find something that could/will cause problems.

It appears that the system is using a OEM/SLP key on a aftermarket motherboard.
