I have had a hard disk crash couple of months ago and since then I started having BSOD when I shutdown the computer or reboot when installing any updates. Since then I replaced the hard drive but the BSOD still persists. Any help is appreciated.

Do you have "Picasa" running while booting down?

EDIT:
When you replaced the HDD with a new one, did you do a clean install or just duplicated the old one?

YoYo155, Yes I have Picasa ruuning at the time of booting down. My data drive crashed and I replaced it with a new one. Fortunately I have data backed up so restoring the data was not an issue (after burnt couple of times you learn. :))

Dsprague, I will update the drivers as suggested by and about to be suggested by YoYo155:). Thank you for your prompt response. Will report back after the driver upgrade.

If updating the drivers doesn't cut it try killing Picasa before you shut-down.

I had trouble installing the drivers. The unzip complained about failing CRC check. Since I have only one computer, I don't need NDAS so I unstalled the software and now BSOD disappeared. :D I even tested with Picasa running and still no issues. I am curious what is the issue with Picasa. I will mark this solved never the less. Thank you very much for your quick and accurate diagnosis. Much appreciated.

With best regards,
Sury
