Windows 7 Professional 32bit Dell Latitude D810 (Yes it's old but I don't have money to throw around)
Hi,
I have been having trouble when starting Minecraft (I mean when I click the icon and I auto get a BSOD)
I already know what the problem is, my drivers. My old hard drive has recently died so my brother gave me his extra one for the same computer I have. Before I did a fresh re-install of Win7 I looked around on his hard drive (He had a Win7 and Win8 partition) I tried opening Minecraft on his Win7 partition and bam, the same problem. When I did the fresh install it said I needed updated graphics so I proceeded to get the drivers for this computer. I tried the ATI AutoDetect+Download but it couldn't find my drivers. Before my old hard drive died my Minecraft ran smoothly as possible. When I get BSOD's it says the same thing "ati3duag.dll". I was reading the BSOD posting instructions and am attaching the zip containing the .dmp

Please help :(
(ask any questions about my computer if needed)

We need to know more about your display/graphics environment. upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.

  1. Click on the start button
  2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
  3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
  4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
  5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.
And if it is that old that it is appearing, better you dont play those games those are crashing there.

Hi Kyle,

Arc has confirmed correctly it is a video driver that is causing this BSOD on the system. This system was shipped with X600 Mobility Radeon card along with the Windows XP.

So running Windows 7 and also playing games without the compatible driver might not be possible. First of all clean any driver installed using this ATI utility:

AMD Catalyst Un-install Utility

Then install this latest driver available which might be able to install on the system:

ATI Catalyst

Sorry to barge in Arc but I knew this system is shipped with X600 video card so I thought should suggest updating the same.

Keep us posted with the results so we can advise you further.

Thank you both,

Arc: Here's the zip

Sandee: I tried that but it was installing and just went away so I presumed that it's closed. I went back to Minecraft and said that I needed to update the drivers (guessing it couldn't find one to install) but I didn't restart my computer after it went away (yes I know it's dumb not to but I have much work to do.) Restarting now

Follow what Sandeep suggests, as it is Dell, you need to listen to him.

Hi Kyypitz,

Once the drivers are installed please restart the system and check if you are able to load the game. If drivers are installed properly you should be able to load the game properly.

However, you need to understand that this is a very old graphic card and drivers for Windows 7 is not available for this video card even with AMD. So, there are chances that it might not work and you have to accept the same.

Keep us posted with the results so we can advise you further.
