I've been having BSOD problems on my laptop for a couple weeks now but have been busy so I didn't get to post about it till now. I've tried to research and fix it myself but have given up and need some help. I've ran memtest with it doing 11 passes and no errors occured and have used sfc with nothing popping up either. Please help if you can.

Probably you are using this laptop after a long time?
Coz, with so much outdated drivers, it should have BSOD'd much earlier.

Update the drivers. First try OEM. Go to Acer | Driver Download
Get them all other than the cross marked one.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus and the touchpad driver, EDTCtrl.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Let us know how the computeris running. Will decide the further steps after seeing the results.

I updated all the drivers you recommended and also stopped a lot of the start up programs and so far no BSODs! I'll post again if anything happens again but thank you so much!

BSOD when using chrome. 0x00000116 error code. Atikmdag.sys

I've recently been running into new BSODs relating to Aatikmdag.sys and dxgmms1.sys. I recently got rid of older BSOD issues by updating some old drivers but now I'm having problems again. I'm pretty clueless with this sort of thing so any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

It appears that you havent followed my earlier instructions.

The display driver is too old, not that one as per the website.
Code:
fffff880`04562000 fffff880`045b3000   atikmpag T (no symbols)
    Loaded symbol image file: atikmpag.sys
    Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\atikmpag.sys
[COLOR=Red]    Image name: atikmpag.sys
    Timestamp:        Wed May 25 07:55:42 2011[/COLOR] (4DDC68A6)
    CheckSum:         00058CA5
    ImageSize:        00051000
    Translations:     0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
And one of the BSODs are caused by the display driver.
Code:
BugCheck 116, {fffffa8004d414e0, fffff88004569a1c, 0, 2}

Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\atikmpag.sys, Win32 error 0n2

As both the drivers (Intel and AMD) are atikmpag.sys ....
Code:
Name    Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
Driver    c:\windows\system32\drivers\atikmpag.sys (8.14.1.6214, 302.50 KB (309,760 bytes), 8/26/2011 5:44 AM)
Name    AMD Radeon HD 6650M
Driver    c:\windows\system32\drivers\atikmpag.sys (8.14.1.6214, 302.50 KB (309,760 bytes), 8/26/2011 5:44 AM)
It is not possible to determine which one is causing the issue, so you need to update both the VGA drivers.

The other one is caused by the AVG crapware.
Code:
BugCheck 50, {fffff80000000180, 0, fffff800032cfaba, 0}

Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\avgmfx64.sys, Win32 error 0n2

AVG is impossible to uninstall in full (as good as a malware); but you may try to uninstall it. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

If still the AVG BSODs occur, there will be no way left other than a clean install.

I'd prefer a virus than AVG antivirus.
