Windows 7 64bit ultimate.
Bought it at University Book Store. (Full retail)
Upgrade version, but has legit cd key.
Recently reinstalled the os once more yesterday.
Fairly new hardware (Couple of months)
Custom built.

As i'm typing this up, random applications are crashing on me.
For instance, windows desktop manager crashed.
Also, windows explorer needed to be restarted.
Perhaps some files became corrupt because of the BSOD? Idk.

The .dmp file included implicates you Bluetooth software (not the device itself or even its drivers, but the software). Recommend uninstallnig any Bluetooth related applications and seeing if the system is more stable. It may also be worth seeing if you can find up to date drivers and software for the Bluetooth devices.

It is difficult to find patterns with only one.dmp file, so we may have to wait for more .dmp files to see what the actual problem is. The above may only be a one-time thing.

Thank you.
I love you.

P.S. I recently just had another BSOD.
Should I repeat the same steps and edit the perform /report and the BSOD collection app report onto this same thread?

Yes. I uninstalled it, and installed it once more with new software retrieved from the asus website.
Might I add that my desktop windows manager crashes from time to time?

Crashes indicate hard disk problems and possible memory problems. Hard disk related problems can be caused by hard disk data corruption, windows corruption, viruses, or memory problems.

  • If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

  • Run Disk Check with both boxes checked for all HDDs and with Automatically fix file system errors checked for all SSDs. Post back your logs for the checks after finding them using http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/96938-check-disk-chkdsk-read-event-viewer-log.html.
For any drives that do not give the message:
Windows has checked the file system and found no problems
run disk check again as above. In other words, if it says:
Windows has made corrections to the file system
after running the disk check, run the disk check again.

  • Run the short and long tests with SeaTools.
  • Check Windows for corruption. Run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations. Use OPTION THREE of http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html to provide us with the sfcdetails.txt file if errors occur.

  • Download and install Malwarebytes, update it, do not start the free trial, and then run a full scan. Also run a full scan with your antivirus software installed on your system. If you do not have antivirus software installed, see the http://www.sevenforums.com/system-s...-system-security-combination.html#post1732627 for better security steps and scanning tools. Make sure to update the security software before running the full scan.

  • Run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial. Also, in case Memtest86+ misses anything and comes up with no errors, run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. These you may want to run overnight since they take a long time to complete (run them an hour before bed each of the next two nights and check before going to sleep that they are still running).
       Warning
Before you proceed with the following, answer these two questions: Are you still under warranty? Does your warranty allow you to open up the machine to check hardware? If you are unsure of the answers to these questions, contact your system manufacturer. :warn:WARNING: The steps that follow can void your warranty!!!

For Part 3: If You Have Errors: If you swap any memory components, follow these steps for ESD safety:
    1. Shut down and turn off your computer.
    2. Unplug all power supplies to the computer (AC Power then battery for laptops, AC power for desktops)
    3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to close the circuit and ensure all power drains from components.
    4. Make sure you are grounded by using proper grounding techniques, i.e. work on an anti-static workbench, anti-static desk, or an anti-static pad. Hold something metallic while touching it to the anti-static surface, or use an anti-static wristband to attach to the anti-static material while working. If you do not have an anti-static workbench, desk, or pad, you can use your computer tower/case by finding a metal hold in it, such as a drive bay.
Once these steps have been followed, it is safe to remove and replace components within your computer.

Hey writhziden,

I've been pretty busy lately so i'll get back to you in the near future.
However, in the mean time, I have been doing some of the steps you've asked me.
- SeaTools for windows = Checked for short and long.
- Malwarebytes' test was successful.
- I ran the windows memory diagnostics test for 22 passes [Extended with the cache on] and got no problems.

I'll try to reply reply to this thread back asap.

SeaTools passed, I assume? Malwarebytes did not find any malicious items?

Don't forget to run Memtest86+ for 7-21 passes (the more, the better). :)

Yes, both were fine.

I suppose the last test to run is Memtest86+
Also, i did notice that my sfc would find corrupt files, but I did have a time where it wouldn't find any corrupt files. So basically it goes on and off, at times it's usually corrupted, but I have had times when it would say "___ has found no violations"

Yes, seatools and malwarebytes hadn't found anything.

I've been using this computer a couple times lately and got some more bsods headed your way.
I'm going to run memtest for a couple hours, hopefully past the 7 pass mark.
I noticed that my sfc has corrupt files, but I mean seriously, this is something that i've been dealing with for a while now. In the sense that, there should be no reason that my files be fine one day, and after a shutdown have corrupt files once more.
I'm going to run memtest, but seriously, I just want these bsods to go away T-T
I doubt it's the harddrive, I replaced it!
I'm so scared, super super scared that my ram sockets on the motherboard are bad, or maybe it's broken, or maybe it's just the new corsair ram that happens to be bad out of the box. Maybe it's this, maybe it's that.
Too much stress. :[

P.S. The most recent documents are labeled "Fourth"

Also, my skype will crash because of a faulty module StackHash_e98d, and my google chrome at times since booting up my computer will crash and it won't open.

I have a 600W PSU, I should probably include that.

The most recent crashes point to memory.

I understand the anxiety of debugging your system to determine the problem. For us, it is simple because we do it all the time, but it can be intimidating to someone who is doing it for the first time. We have to go through and narrow down the problem by testing each possibility individually. Computers have so many hardware and software components that it is impossible to look at one and know the problem straight off. It takes time and patience.

If you are uncomfortable proceeding with more troubleshooting, I would suggest taking the system to a computer service center and having it diagnosed and repaired there. It will cost quite a bit more in the long run, but it would provide more peace of mind.

I want to continue.
As long as I have your help.
I think it's okay to say that my worst fears have been eliminated.
I just ran memtest86 for 7 passes over night, and it didn't have any errors.
I do know that my sfc has corrupt files. all the time.
Can we find out whats causing them to corrupt?
And i'll upload the cbs logs asap.

Edit: Just uploaded.

Edit2: In the past 2 times, while trying to update windows, I got bsods in the process for both times.

Those are some very important files to have corrupted. I would recommend that you http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html Windows ASAP.

Before repair installing, you will need to get the appropriate media to do so and you should also back up any important data, write down software keys, and write down your Windows key. Steos 1-3 and 6-7 of http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164 are a good idea to read through.

Honestly speaking, i've installed and reinstalled windows almost 10+ times now.

I started running sfc yesterday and noticed that it finally said that "Windows Protection __ has found no violations."
On the same note, sometimes when I boot up my computer, some of my applications won't function correctly. For example, when I boot up my computer one day, it says that google chrome won't work, some programs won't open, and etc. However, if I restart my computer, then the programs work fine, and this is something I've had to do from time to time.
Is there another option, other than repair install? Because even if I do repair install, the chances of this arising again from personal experience makes it so that I'm probably going to have to do another repair install again.
