BSOD when using FB and staying online in internet

I just built my gaming rig and all of my hardware are brand new except my 600watts Thermaltake psu. All of my drivers (VCard and BIOS) are updated. BSOD still occur for almost 3 weeks while using FB or streaming in youtube. However, playing high-end games like BF4 and Shadow of Mordor don't get me a BSOD after playing it for a long time. l I don't have any idea as I did all of the things that internet searches suggested to me. The only remaining thing that I didn't do is to read the dump files but I don't know how to read it. Below is my System information:

OS: Windows 7 64bit
Processor: i5 4460
VCard: R9 285
MOBO: Z97 Gaming 3
Ram: 4GB Kingston HyperX Fury
PSU: Thermaltake Lite 600Watts

Please help me. I really don't have any remaining idea on how to solve this. It's so frustrating

Hi eldritch09.

Usually stop 0x124's are hardware related BSODs, but this does not match properly with your description of the issue.

There are some network related things starting up with windows automatically which are known BSOD causers. Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

1. Click on the Start button
2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
3. Select the “Startup” tab.
4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
5. Apply > OK
6. Accept then restart.

Uninstall McAfee Security Scan plus. Dont get it back again. Be careful when updating Flash Player, uncheck the option of downloading McAfee Security Scan plus ... it is not anything that you wanted there.

Search for any possible updates to Killer e2200 from Driver Downloads | Qualcomm Atheros, Inc.

Disable hardware acceleration in Firefox: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/271263-firefox-gpu-hardware-acceleration-turn-off.html

Scan the system for possible virus infection with the following programs.

• Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller
• Windows Defender Offline

Hi Arc,

I already reformat my pc and change my OS into Windows 8.1 but still, I got several random BSOD for today. Also, I already updated my Killer e2200 latest driver and turn off the GPU Hardware Acceleration and reduced my startup application. My all of my drivers are now update. Now, I getting BSOD while playing games and still sometimes while using Facebook. Attached is the new dump files that I collected today

Stop 0x124 continues even after installing another OS. So there is no doubt that it is the hardware that is causing the issue.


Is any of the hardware components overclocked? As you are getting BSODs, you should stop overclocking and run all the hardware components like CPU, GPU and RAM to their default settings.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.

How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+

Run memtest86+ for at least 8 consecutive passes.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

Take a screenshot of the furmark window before closing it. Upload the screenshot for us.

Stress test the CPU.

Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95
​

It saves the result as a .txt file in the prime95's folder. Upload the file for us.

Check if the Power Supply Unit (PSU) supplying adequate power to the computer or not.

Also let us know the wattage of the PSU.

Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Alternatively, you can publish a Speccy snapshot too: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/311593-speccy-publish-snapshot-your-system-specs.html .

Some further troubleshooting will be needed depending on the results.

Hi Arch,

After 1week, No BSOD at all, but then last Saturday, it BSOD again, and it happens that one of my hardisk was not detected anymore by the MOBO. So I replaced it with a new one, and install Windows 8.1 again. And again, I get several BSOD while just using the Internet for this day.

I already run Furmark with no error at all. Also, already passed the IntelBurn test in High mode and still no error at all. I already run the Memtest but I didn't provide a screenshot and I don't think that my RAM is the problem as it is a brand new.(Please See attached files).

I'm losing hope, I already experiencing this thing for almost a month and reformat my PC for the nth time. Playing high resolution games for an hour doesn't give me a BSOD, but simple internet gave me this frustrating problem.

Frankly speaking, mate, I never experienced it that a stop 0x124 is occurring for networking only; as it is generally supposed to be a hardware caused BSOD.

But, one thing you may try. You have a startup item ....

[COLOR=Red]Killer Network Manager[/COLOR]    c:\windows\installer\{d6e67da7-8988-46fb-bf12-70635254b0cd}\networkmanager.exe_130c27d738f34c89bddf21bcfd74b56d.exe -minimize    Public    Common Startup

It includes an item "BigFoot network bandwidth controller" which is a BSOD causer very often (not stop 0x124 usually, though).

Disable this startup item and see how it works. Taking this way based on what you are experiencing.

Hi Arc,

Sorry for the late response. After I disable the Killer Ethernet Network in the start-up, the number of BSOD was decrease but still I got a BSOD at least 1 or 2 BSOD per day. Also, I notice that after I disable the Killer Enthernet, the bugcheck code in the Bluescreen viewer was changed, so I suspect we solved one of the BSOD causer, but still I got BSOD but not as often as previous. Now, I getting BSOD very randomly. Attached is the latest BSODs that I got.

My new suspect is that my external usb fan, could it be a possibility that It can cause BSOD because it can underpower my CPU? I have 600wattz of PSU...
