Hey guys!

I was browsing Facebook and exactly when I wanted to play a video I got this BSOD:

(It stuck on Initializing disk for crash dump so I force restarted the computer if this is for any help)

Could you help me find out why I got it and how to avoid it in the future?

Thank's

Is the issue resolved or are you still getting BSOD's when attempting to play video's from Facebook?

Oh, I forgot to tell you so I mixed two questions up. I've had big issues with my screen randomly freezing while on the browser, so that's what I mean't. But I am still not sure if this works better with FF but I havent got any freezes since so i guess :)

But for the BSOD, i still dont know what happened! So please help me find out :D

Hello LukaLean,

Hmm, your zip seems to lack any dump files.. Have you configured Windows to create them?
If not, you can do so by following this tutorial.
After doing so, please try to recreate the BSOD and then upload the .dmp files in a .zip so we can have a look at them:)

Until we have the dump files we can do very little concerning your BSOD I fear.
That said, here is some other advice:D

----------

:warn:
Your Windows installation seems to be missing an essential update; please download and install the KB971033 update (click to download).

When done, please follow the Genuine and Activation Posting Instructions and provide us with the log created to see if the update is successfully installed.

----------

Please reduce the items that run at start up. You basically only need your anti virus to run at start up, all other programs are not necessary and can be removed from the start up list.
Check this tutorial to see how to add or remove start up items.

----------

Are you using a paid version of Avast!? If so, please keep it. If not, please follow the following two things;

Please Uninstall Avast!;

  1. Open the Start Menu by clicking on the
    orb.png
    :orb:.
  2. Click on Control Panel and under Programs click on Uninstall a program.
  3. Wait for the list to update, and when done, please Right-click on Avast! and select Uninstall/Change.
  4. Follow the on screen instructions, and when prompted, please restart your computer.
  5. When you are done, please download the Avast! Uninstall Utility and follow the on screen instructions.
  6. Restart your computer.

----------

Please download Microsoft Security Essentials from here;
  1. Download the file and save it to your desktop.
  2. Double click the file and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. Restart your machine after installing MSE and please run a full scan and report back anything found.

Good luck and keep us posted,
Nommy
