BSOD while gaming, Borderlands

After recently installing Borderlands, I've been getting BSOD's after approximate 2 hours of playing it, almost on the dot though sometimes it can crash on the opening of the game or the loading of a room or even after 5 minutes. This has been going on for about 2 weeks and it gets annoying cause I play online with my friends. The thing is that I can play games like L4D2 and even Starcraft 2 for hours on end without a hitch.

I've tried reinstalling my graphics card driver and updating it to the latest from the site but the bsod still kept coming

My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 QUAD CPU Q8400 2.66GHZ
4GB of Ram: 2x2gb OCZ Platinum
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-EP45
Powersupply: OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ700MXSP 700W
Graphics Card: ATI HD Radeon 4770

Btw in the health report, ignore WDSES, didn't install on purpose

Hi and Welcome to SF!

It looks like the graphic card is having problem. The best way to check it is to try if you can borrow another graphic card adapter and try on yours system.

If you want to try re-install graphic card driver again. When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.

When re-install your graphic card, update directx as well:
Download details: DirectX End-User Runtime

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Also, please remove AVIRA antivirus for testing purpose. Third party AV is known for causing BSODs. Stop code 3B and 7E suggest that.

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads

Thanks for the help so far, haven't retried borderlands yet but I'm following these steps, I found out that I actually tried reinstalling my updated gfx driver without properly uninstalling it with Driver Sweeper, just through the control panel.

When I was running Driver Sweeper though, I noticed my computer had all this nvidia registries for display driver and chipset but my card and mobo don't use it. This is a computer my brother built himself a few months ago and he said he didn't remember installing them. The date modified on them says they were installed around 2006 so maybe it came with it?

I'm just wondering if its safe to clean them since I have an ATI card and a gigabyte motherboard
