For instance my problem seems to be solved by uninstalling the internet download manager.....thanks..
Is it necessary to uninstall the zone alarm?
I use avast antivirus along with zone alarm is it a good combination?

NO .Please uninstall it.
Zone alarm in many cases
create bsod.

Personally i never use any DM,i dont see any benefit from using it.
I use the
standard firefox download manager.
Now
work,play as usual and remember
to post back (maybe tomorrow)
with any results.
