BSOD while idling, playing games

Hello all,

I'm having a BSOD issue when my computer idles, or randomly while playing games. I thought for a long while it was a hardware issue, and have swapped in new RAM and a new motherboard, but the issue continues. You will notice a ~one month discrepancy between the date of the most recent dump file and the previous - I was waiting on my replacement motherboard during this time.

If there's any additional information you need outside of the dump files, please let me know. Thank you.

Edit: The reason I believe it was a hardware issue is that I've reinstalled Windows 7 several times in attempts to fix the issue, to no avail. I am using Trixy's Driver Fusion Premium to automatically update all of my drivers - perhaps this is the root of the issue?

The BSOD errors you are receiving seem to point towards Hard drive failure but could also be other things.

1. If you are overclocking stop immediately. After we resolve the BSOD, you can continue overclocking if you wish.

2. Please uninstall Avast and install Microsoft Security Essentials just to give us a stable environment for BSOD purposes. If you like Avast, reinstall after we finish. Keep one or the other, its never recommended to have two AV's on the same system.

2. Verify your Ram is in working order. Download and run Memtest86+. I recommend running this overnight for at least 8 passes or until you receive any errors. Upon receiving any errors, stop the test, your ram or dimm slot is bad. Test the sticks of Ram individually to test for BSOD.

3. Remove all External USB/Internal drives connected to your PC that are unnecessary at least for now. Remove and reset connections to your hard drive (both ends) to ensure the cables are connected securely.

4. Run your hard drive manufacturers diagnostic utility and check Smart statistics and for errors (upload a screen shot or file and post it in your response)

5. Update your drivers for your motherboard and video card

Just out of curiosity, are you using Readyboost? You seem to be having issues with Readyboost at the time of a couple of your Crash dumps. If you are using Readyboost, can you stop and see if that helps?

Quite the homework assignment! Sorry for taking so long to get back to you.

1. I am currently not overclocking

2. Avast uninstalled and MSE are installed.

2.1 I didn't bother running memtest after my motherboard was replaced under the assumption that AsRock wouldn't send me a replacement board with a dead slot but...my assumptions were erroneous. A memtest ran overnight with both sticks in the RAM slots returned 113 errors on test #13. After running a test on one stick of RAM which returned no errors (4 passes) I thought I was fine, but the freezing persist. I'm doing a full, 10 pass test on both sticks individually now.

3. This actually resulted in something very interesting. After unplugging both of my storage hard disks, the PC would not boot. Apparently the 100MB boot partition somehow ended up on one of the two hard disks, while Windows is actually installed on the SSD partition. Could this be a problem? Maybe why ReadyBoost is showing up in the crash reports (i had never heard of this software before you mentioned it). I'm going to format both disks and reinstall both windows AND the boot partition on the SSD tomorrow.

4. So my SSD is a Crucial M4 256 GB SSD (my rig details updated for clarity), but this manufacturer apparently does not have a hard drive analysis tool. Is there a third party one you would recommend? I did update the firmware in the process of looking for such a tool. How do I check Smart statistics and what are those?

5 & 6. Motherboard, video card drivers, and windows update are all 100% up to date.
