Problem Device:
Code:
PCI Simple Communications Controller	PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3A&SUBSYS_844D1043&REV_04\3&11583659&0&B0	The drivers for this device are not installed.
The Intel Management Engine Interface is one of the most important devices for the system. Without its drivers, your system may not be stable.

Problematic Software:
Code:
Start Menu\Programs\TuneUp Utilities 2012	Public:Start Menu\Programs\TuneUp Utilities 2012	Public

Your wireless driver athrx.sys is out of date. Please make sure to update it from the vendor's support site.

Please remove any CD/DVD virtualization software, such as Daemon Tools/Alcohol 120%, as they use a driver called sptd.sys that is known to cause BSODs. Use add/remove programs to remove the software. After removing the software, use the sptd.sys uninstaller to remove sptd.sys from the system.

I prefer TotalMounter as my CD/DVD virtualization software as it allows me to burn images to a virtual CD/DVD if I just want an ISO file instead of a disc, and it is free.

Many use MagicISO - Convert BIN to ISO, Create, Edit, Burn, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter/extractor/editor as well, which is also free.

Crashes caused by avast! and by Video TDR Error 0x116.
  • Uninstall avast! with the avast! uninstall utility. Then, download a fresh copy of avast! and install it.

If that does not resolve the avast! related crashes, uninstall avast1 again with the utility and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows to test.

  • These are all stop 0x116 VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE conditions.

It's not a true crash, in the sense that the bluescreen was initiated only because the combination of video driver and video hardware was being unresponsive, and not because of any synchronous processing exception.

Since Vista, the "Timeout Detection and Recovery" (TDR) components of the OS video subsystem have been capable of doing some truly impressive things to try to recover from issues which would have caused earlier OSs like XP to crash. As a last resort, the TDR subsystem sends the video driver a "please restart yourself now!" command and waits a few seconds. If there's no response, the OS concludes that the video driver/hardware combo has truly collapsed in a heap, and it fires off that stop 0x116 BSOD.

If playing with video driver versions hasn't helped, make sure the box is not overheating. Try removing a side panel and aiming a big mains fan straight at the motherboard and GPU. Run it like that for a few hours or days - long enough to ascertain whether cooler temperatures make a difference. If so, it might be as simple as dust buildup and subsequently inadequate cooling.

Avast came pre-installed on my PC,i have a copy of NOD32 lying somewhere around but i'm not sure if it is the best one,but ill intall it.I need daemon and alcohol, and i already have magic iso,i never did install drivers for my wireless card,i just plugged it out of my old PC and put it in.I dont have problems with it and it works perfectly.I don't think it was related to tuneup because ive downloaded it to get rid of the BSOD,it just ended up annoying me with messages to buy full version.Where exactly can i find the PCI drivers? Thanks.
