I'm currently running Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and have been getting multiple blue screens. I thought that I had fixed it, however it seems to come and go, which is a little frustrating. The most recent blue screen displayed a NETIO.SYS crash, I did a basic Google search for it, and these forums came up as a good place to get some help in resolving the issues.

Anyway, going to attach the Dumpfiles and the PERFMON to see if someone can help me out. Thank you.

Your crashes primarily indicate hard disk problems. This could mean hard disk corruption, bad sectors, a failing hard disk, Windows files or registry corruption, viruses, or memory problems.
  • If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

  • Run Disk Check with both boxes checked for all HDDs and with Automatically fix file system errors checked for all SSDs. Post back your logs for the checks after finding them using http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/96938-check-disk-chkdsk-read-event-viewer-log.html (you may need to search for wininit instead of chkdsk).
For any drives that do not give the message:
Windows has checked the file system and found no problems
run disk check again as above. In other words, if it says:
Windows has made corrections to the file system
after running the disk check, run the disk check again.

  • Run the short and long tests with SeaTools.
  • Check Windows for corruption. Run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations. Use OPTION THREE of http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html to provide us with the sfcdetails.txt file if errors occur.

  • Download and install Malwarebytes, update it, do not start the free trial, and then run a full scan. Also run a full scan with your antivirus software installed on your system. If you do not have antivirus software installed, see the http://www.sevenforums.com/system-s...-system-security-combination.html#post1732627 for better security steps and scanning tools. Make sure to update the security software before running the full scan.

  • Run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial. Also, in case Memtest86+ misses anything and comes up with no errors, run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. These you may want to run overnight since they take a long time to complete (run them an hour before bed each of the next two nights and check before going to sleep that they are still running).
       Warning
Before you proceed with the following, answer these two questions: Are you still under warranty? Does your warranty allow you to open up the machine to check hardware? If you are unsure of the answers to these questions, contact your system manufacturer. :warn:WARNING: The steps that follow can void your warranty!!!

For Part 3: If You Have Errors: If you swap any memory components, follow these steps for ESD safety:
    1. Shut down and turn off your computer.
    2. Unplug all power supplies to the computer (AC Power then battery for laptops, AC power for desktops)
    3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to close the circuit and ensure all power drains from components.
    4. Make sure you are grounded by using proper grounding techniques, i.e. work on an anti-static workbench, anti-static desk, or an anti-static pad. Hold something metallic while touching it to the anti-static surface, or use an anti-static wristband to attach to the anti-static material while working. If you do not have an anti-static workbench, desk, or pad, you can use your computer tower/case by finding a metal hold in it, such as a drive bay.
Once these steps have been followed, it is safe to remove and replace components within your computer.

Also, some of your information was missing from the crash reports. Please upload your msinfo32.nfo file. To get this: Start Menu -> Type msinfo32 into the Search programs and files box -> When it opens, go to File, Save -> Save as msinfo32.nfo and save in a place you will remember -> Let it finish the process of gathering and saving the system info -> Right click the .nfo file, click send to compressed (zipped) folder -> Upload the .zip file here.

  • We do not recommend automated driver update software. It often finds drivers for devices similar to but not exactly the same as the hardware actually on the system. This can lead to conflicts and blue screen crashes. If you need help finding driver updates for a certain device, please start a thread in Drivers - Windows 7 Forums instead of using software. Driver updates are not always necessary and some updates can actually decrease system stability rather than increase it, so it is usually better not to update unless a device or its driver is causing problems with the system. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

  • I recommend against 3rd party defrag tools. Windows has some nice command line flags for the defrag command that will accomplish the same tasks as 3rd party programs. The -b and -w flags will defrag boot files and the boot registry items as well as compact the data to the center of the disk for faster access.
    defrag c: -b
    defrag -c -v -w
The first command optimizes boot performance for the Windows drive by defragmenting boot files and boot registry items.

The second command includes all drives on the system through the -c command and optimizes the drives by compacting the data to the center of the disk. Verbose output through the -v option is optional to provide the user with more information about the defrag tasks. The commands have to be run in an http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/783-elevated-command-prompt.html.

    For more flags, see http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11733-disk-defragmenter-open-use.html.

Thank you writhziden.

I've followed what the person on that link you provided said to do, the device is no longer in the device manager, even in the hidden section, so I hope that that was the result that was meant to happen. I have also Removed SlimDrivers and Smart Defrag 2, and will save those commands in a text file for reference for next time I run a defrag.

SeaTools for Windows finished it's scan of 2 of my drives already. Currently running it on my last drive.

Also ran the virus scans today, Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware and Microsoft Security Essentials. Malwarebytes came up with nothing, SuperAntiSpyware came up with a lot of tracking cookies which I removed, and MSE came up with a Java Script (JS) exploit, which I removed.

Also after running the scans and removing anything harmful, I've done as the link you provided said, and installed WOT for Chrome, which was already running ScriptNO and AdBlock Plus, and have disabled 3rd Party Cookies as instructed as well.

Tonight I will run Memtest86+ before bed, and will post results tomorrow.

Thank you again for all your help, writhziden.

Just finished 7 passes of Memtest86+ with 0 errors.

When I started my computer up, I was playing around with usb devices, removing them and plugging them into different slots, and got a blue screen, so I've zipped the minidump of it, and I'll attach it to this post to see if it sheds some more light on it.

I'll run the windows memory test tonight before I head to bed and share those results tomorrow.

The crashes were caused by your New DeathAdder Mouse driver danew.sys. Re-install the latest driver for the device. You will find the device under mice and other pointing devices inside device manager.

To fully re-install a driver, use the following steps.
  1. First, download the latest driver. Then do the next steps.
  2. Click Start Menu
  3. Right Click My Computer/Computer
  4. Click Manage
  5. Click Device Manager from the list on the left
  6. Find the device you are trying to uninstall by expanding the appropriate set of devices
  7. Right click the device
  8. Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
  9. Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK
  10. Restart your computer only if Windows asks you to.
  11. Install the latest driver for the device.

Alternatively:
  1. Login as an adminstrative user.
  2. First, download the latest driver. Then do the next steps.
  3. Click Start Menu
  4. Click Control Panel
  5. Click Hardware and Sound
  6. Click Device Manager (the last link under Devices and Printers)
  7. Find the device you are trying to uninstall by expanding the appropriate set of devices
  8. Right click the device
  9. Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
  10. Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK
  11. Restart your computer only if Windows asks you to.
  12. Install the latest driver for the device.

Since this is a mouse driver, you may want to set up your power settings so the power button shuts down your computer or restarts your computer since you will not be able to use the mouse after uninstalling it. See OPTION THREE of http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/850-power-button-start-menu.html

Done that all, got back into playing some games after a couple of days off, got a blue screen while playing Diablo 3. I've attached the dump file that it made.

A friend I was playing with at the time said that it might be a motherboard problem, and I'm actually a little freaked out at the idea of needing to replace a motherboard less than a year after I bought this one.

It is possible it is the motherboard. It could be other hardware, as well. Run some hardware checks.
  • If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

  • Monitor temperatures during the following tests.
Use the following programs to monitor the temperatures.

  • You may want to run Memtest86+ again at some point. It is up to you, and should be run when it is convenient to get 7-10 passes. Failing RAM can be finicky, and Memtest86+ may not test the portion of RAM that is failing on the first run.

Run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial. Also, in case Memtest86+ misses anything and comes up with no errors, run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. The most recent crash points to a memory fault. The process running at the time is mumble.exe which is part of your Mumble application. Up to you whether you want to remove it to see if it is the cause of crashes. It appears to be a one time incident, so I do not think it necessary to remove unless you know it was running on other occasions during a crash.

Hi, bit of an update, I sent an email to the store that I bought the motherboard from, and they had a look at, turns out it was a funky install of Win7. There was an old hard drive that I was too lazy to remove, and the boot manager managed to get on it. Long story short, old hard drive removed, clean install of Win7, and there have been no more blue screens.

They also said that there might be something wrong with my graphics card, so I'm in the process of claiming the warranty on that before it gives me any problems.

Thank you for all the help writhziden, you've given me great advice and I've leant a bit about how to error check with my computer.
