BSOD while playing Arma2 Possibly Sound?

Hi All,

I did read the other Arma2 thread which seemed to be related to a Linksys device which I don't believe I have. I have the zipped the debugging program file you guys need and as always your help on this would be amazing.

Some details, I was playing Arma 2 (this blue screen has happened at least 3 times) it seems to make the sound hang. I only recently made the jump to 64 bit to utilise all my memory. I did check my components to see if they were 64bit compatible and didn't find any problems and also installed with all the 64bit drivers as far as I was aware. The BSOD is really grating me now as I can sometimes play 2hours then others 10 minutes.

Any info you guys need to know I'll let you have. I'll be checking this forum as much as possible too.

Wow, very quick response, just a quick one, this BSOD has only started happening since I installed 64bit, is it worth me going back to 32bit as I have played all these things before without error for years?

Not yet, 64 bit is great. I wish my system is support for 64 bit but I have only 2GB of ram. Let's try to fix the problem first ok?

The only part overclocked is the Chip, running at 3ghz from the standard 2.4ghz however that has been like that from day 1. Besides that, since it was 2 years ago, I can't remember the standard settings for the chip to reset to factory defaults.

The cooling is fine, I have a 24" fan that sits 2ft away pointed at it (through my legs) and it also has 4 case fans. I also have the nVidia chip cooler (extra on the TriSLI board) and also a aftermarket CPU cooler. Both again, installed 2 years ago and never BSOD till now.

I thought the network card was part of the Mobo pack, I'll look for a standalone driver and update if possible.

Will have a look at BIOS updating, I'm a bit of a hardware noob tbh, flashing the BOIS is not something I want to get into if at all possible.

As the thread states. Windows 7 isn't known for its false positives so no point looking down that road.

Stress testing is also another area I want to avoid, last time I ran a stress test, with the graphics cards, own software, I was at the shop getting a replacement the next day and also writing to ask why the GFX card had set fire to my PC system!

The last point seems to be the most viable at this point, a re-install with 32 bit as it wasn't causing problems before and only after installing 64bit has it caused problems (I'm going to troll the Bohemia forums for a while first to see if I can match anything there.

Cleaning and maintenance is done bi-monthly with compressed air.

The last point from the post is a PITA lol but I guess, needs must.

Your .dmp file is still showing a 0x124 hardware error... Since you say that you have OC'd your CPU, the obvious fix is to return it to its default values... This is usually done in the BIOS setup screen ( press del ) while booting .. you should see an option to set values to default settings.. Let us know if you still need help...

I'm going to default it to basic then try Arma2 for a few hours, then if that fails, roll back to 32bit.

Just played for 1hour. No BSOD. Wasn't on my normal server, will play after dinner for a few hours and get back to you all.

Been playing for over 3 hours now, no BSOD.

It appears for now this may be resolved.
