BSOD while playing BF3

earlier today and some of yesterday, i was trying some overclocking changes to my computer using the ASUS TurboV EVO software. when i was done, i reverted everything back to stock/normal in the mobo BIOS and decided to leave it like it is for now.

i've now been playing Battlefield 3 for 5 hours without incident and suddenly get a BSOD. i dont know how to read the dump files. if someone could tell me what caused it would help greatly!

One BSOD rule of thumb, is IGNORE it, unless it repeats.

Probably bug in device driver, they happen.... ignore it for now unless it repeats.

APC_INDEX_MISMATCH error code 1 on watchdog.sys

oh! hahaha i've not heard that rule before. ok, well i just wanted someone to take a look at it since i was messing with overclocking stuff earlier. FYI, i did re-install my chipset drivers earlier today in an effort to fix a problem in another thread.

Did u get it from the manufacturer's website? Chipset drivers if wrong ones will lead to heaps of issues, aka. break the system faster than a sledgehammer.

Yes, ignore one BSOD as anomaly/fluke, it will repeat if a real problem.

Overclocking will just actually BREAK components, not drivers.

Follow these instructions..

1- Update Drivers
-Click Start, type Device Manager in the Search box.
-Press ENTER.
-Update each device which is out-of-date.
-Restart your computer.
2- second Set Java.exe to High Priority by following steps
-Right click your Taskbar.
-Select Start Task Manager option.
-In the new dialog click Processes tab.
-Right click Java.exe process, select Set Priority | High.
-Click Change Priority button under new confirmation box.

3-Third Clean and Defrag your Windows Registry

4- Disable Antivirus Real-Time Protection

5- also Clean the motherboard, Cable Slots of Hard disk, RAM Slots, CD Drive Slot etc inside the CPU box

ok well, all day yesterday i was re-installing my OS and programs in attempt to fix a problem from another thread and hopefully this BSOD business as well.

the other problem i fixed. however, same thing just happened tonight. i've been playing Battlefield 3 for several hours and in the middle of it my computer BSOD'S.

when i re-installed the OS, i used all up to date drivers.
