I built my PC about a year and a half and lately It seems to be blue screening a lot it was rare it would happen before It mainly does it after playing Black ops 2 for a couple of hours it's not overheating its rare my cpu goes over 50 and my gpu over 60 so I have no idea what is causing it.

I have checked all my drivers are updated and reinstalled windows and it still happens I have used windows memory diaganostic tool and it comes up clear I don't know what is causing it I only have one antivirus which is microsoft security essentails I did use avast before I reinstalled windows but in an attempt to stop the blue screens I thought I would change to MSE.

The last two blue screens was:

PFN_LIST_CORRUPT
STOP 0x0000004E

ATIKMDAG.sys
STOP 0x00000050

If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it as it's getting really annoying.

Welcome aboard, Minicale.

It is crashed by the displau driver, apparently. Try updating it to the latest one,

Ok I have updated the amd driver to the newest one that just came out and found that I had 2 optional windows updates for 64bit systems that hadn't been installed and installed them and I use msi afterburner and speedfan to check the temps and I have never seen them go over 55C on the cpu and 65C on the gpu.

My PC is clean and I haven't overclocked so I'll see how it goes if I don't post back chances are its fixed.

That is a high temperature, and such a temperature, obviously more increased during gameplay, will definitely crash the system.

Afford some additional cooler.

While doing stuff like web browsing they are at 27C For CPU and 38C for GPU while playing games they are on about 40C for CPU 50C for GPU I only got higher when rendering videos which I never do I was just interested in the temps I would get at full load.

My black ops 2 just froze and I looked at the reliability monitor and it said "Video Hardware Error" then "Black Ops 2 Stopped working" does this mean my graphics card is broken?

Sorry for not replying in a while the blue screens stopped until I got back from holiday and they seem to be starting again so I have taken your advice and used furmark and nothing happened it just took my gpu up to 70-71C then levelled out and didn't change I didn't notice anything going wrong so does this mean my gpu is in the clear?

If yes what else could be causing this?

And that is a beta, as I am seeing.

  • Download and install Driver Fusion.
  • Reboot the computer in Advanced Boot Options, safe mode. Search Driver Fusion in your start menu, and remove all components of your ATI/AMD display driver.
  • Update your ATI/AMD display driver.
You can get it from the link in our forum, http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-...alyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html#post17671, or you may go to AMD Graphics Driver and Software and opt for Automatically Detect and Install the appropriate driver for your card.

During installation, you may opt for advanced installation, and install the display driver only, not the Catalyst Control Center.
Remove these entries from startup.
Code:
Facebook Update
RtHDVCpl
btbb_McciTrayApp
GamecomSound
Follow this instructions

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept the restart.
Let us know the results.
