If the title is misleading, I apologize in advance, but that's the only time I've experienced this problem thus far. I have a fear that it's endangering my computer, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome
The best place to start, would be to make sure it is not a driver that is to cause. Im leaning toward hardware, but the reports were not clear at best.

Driver Verifier
I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Windows 7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because
Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

So I followed your procedure and when I restarted, it never crashed to the Blue Screen. So since it didn't do such a thing, should I just continue running my computer like it is and just follow the rest of your directions you gave me then? How will I know this won't happen again?

Keep the verifier on another 24 hours. If it does not happen again, probably not a driver.
We never know if it will happen again, but if it does post.

Okay, I will do that. It's odd that this problem has occurred only when I've been playing games on Steam, but through everything else it works perfectly fine. I will let you know!

Okay, I will! It seems like my computer isn't running as smooth as it was beforehand, that's normal?

Deactivate verifier. The computer should be like before. If it is just activate verifier again.
I have not heard of any problems due to verifier.

So I just ran into this problem again when I was playing Steam again, any idea why?

I followed the steps above me...

Still looks like a driver. Was the computer running really rough with the verifier on?

It was before, then I removed it like we talked about. I turned it back on now, I'll let it sit through 24 hours this time and then come back to you. Shall I upload a different file after I disable it?

Great do it for 36 hours. Use the computer as always. Then send all the dumps. If it does not give an answer, then at least we know it is time to look elsewhere.

Alright, so it happened again, TWICE as I was playing Steam again. This doesn't happen with any other time that I know of. Hope this can get resolved. Any way, here's the zip file:

You will see that it is inconclusive
It was not caused by the verifier. If you used it for 36 hours, could mean hardware. Test memory.
Run for 8 passes.
Then test each stick in a good slot for 6 passes.
If you have dual channel, the results may be incorrect, if shows pass.
