BSOD while running Driver Verifier, probable reason netbt.sys

The thing is, it is identifying a 3rd-party driver. Which was the Fingerprint scan. Did you uninstall the software with the Fingerprint Scan right?

OK, this might be something which i didn't do properly. I uninstalled the software and the driver but on the next reboot, Windows located the "new hardware" and automatically installed back the drivers. So, I just disabled the device in the Device Manager.

Should I do this in some other way?

You need to make sure you unplug it from your system aswell, and then remove the software and drivers.

I cannot unplug it, it's part of the laptop (the fingerprint scanner is located below the touchpad) :-(

Alright, WEll then try doing an update for the fingerprint scanner. Doing a windows update, and under the Optional there might an update for it under there.

i updated the finger scanner drivers, applied some more Windows updates. So, to sum it up:

1) There's no known malware/viruses on the laptop at the moment
2) Everything has been updated - Windows, most of the drivers, etc
3- CHKDSK and MEMTEST show no problems whatsoever

If the BSODs continue, I'll probably try with a fresh Windows installation and then - as a final step - a new laptop LOL

Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it!

Just one final thing - do you have any explanation as of why the system doesn't create minidumps on some BSODs? Maybe that is the key to my problems...?

No need to be sorry, you helped me enough :-)

Yes, the system is configured to write minidumps, it's just that sometimes it's not doing it.

I thought that this might be the key to my problems.

Anyway, once again, thanks for all the help, I haven't had a BSOD for like 1 hour (yay!) and if the system remains stable, I'll write here again and mark the problem as solved :-)

Well if there is more problems, please post back. And hope that there will be more .dmp files.

OK, here we go again, this time (luckily) there's a minidump...

Also please find where this file is located on your C drive: icq.exe

Do not launch it, just give me the path to it.

Chat programs - well, ICQ and Skype.

SFC and CHKDSK didn't show any problems whatsoever.

I'm 99% certain there's no malware on the laptop - unless it's something super new and exclusive but I doubt it LOL

You may be right when you said earlier that it's some kind of a hardware problem...

The weird thing is that the BSODs always show a different reason, there's no consistency at all...

The ICQ.exe location is D:\Program Files (x86)\ICQ7.0

Try unisntalling ICQ because this one pointed towards ICQ which is kinda odd, but go ahead and give it a go

OK, I'll do that and we'll see what happens... Even though... ICQ? Really? LOL But I'm desperate enough so let me do this now.

On a related note, maybe I should upgrade to the latest ICQ version instead?

That could work to, and honestly im desperate to, I've ran out of explanations and everything. If we don't figure this out soon I'll get someone from the BSOD team to take a look.

Was there any other files with this .dmp file?
